Subject: Star ****p Tactical Simulator

To whom it may concern,

I joined World Weavers group to check out the Star Trek writers. In
reading the posts involved, I got an idea about starting another
group to assist in depicting ****p combat. So I set up the following
group. If you would like to use a 'third-party' site to help with
combat, I invite all to check it out. Or, if you happen to have
updated material, I could use it to flush out my group.

I'm in the middle of writing a post, need Keeper's help with it and
hopefully we can do that this weekend. Been a busy time here since we
took
in a litter of kittens that had been abandoned. Two of the five passed
on,
which hit me hard after losing Murphy back in April - one of them was
the
baby girl kitten I wanted to keep, too. Been busy cleaning and kitten
proofing the house, and tomorrow they go to the vet. Egads that's
expensive! (Yeah, the Kitten Fund below is to help defray the expenses
of
helping these babies til they're old enough and healthy enough to be
placed
in homes.) Keeper said I could keep one of them and so far two of the
three
have names so... hm... So much for vowing to not get attached.

Anyhow, just wanted to let you know that I'm here and writing. I
haven't
forgotten!

Blessed be,

Morgan

Subject: [DL-N] Evil in the Orchards

Mid Afternoon

The horse was tiring. He wasn't used to running like this. Sampson
was a big tan gelding, used for pulling wagons to market because his
steady gait kept the apples from getting too bruised. Bruised like
she was now, riding him with only a pad and a light saddle and
bridle. She didn't know how to ride barebacked or she'd have skipped
putting that much on him. She barely knew how to ride at all. At
least Sampson was staying on the road. She knew this road led to
Voldarra where Norwall Warren had a dragonrider outpost. That was
her goal. She had to get to the dragonriders. They'd know how to
help.

Cherry gritted her teeth against the pain of the ride and ****ged her
heels into Sampson's flanks again, trying to will the poor horse to
go faster. Every moment on the road was one more moment for the
invaders to escape farther and farther away..taking Celeste with
them. Poor Celeste had to be scared out of her mind. Cherry sent a
silent plea to the gods that nothing worse had happened to her
sister.

They'd struck during the middle of the festival. The Ravensvale
council had just crowned Celeste as this year's apple blossom queen,
and she was still smiling on the dais in the center of the town
square, a vision of golden curls in the frothy pink gown carrying a
bouquet of wildflowers. The men had come from the crowd, strangers
to the village, but the festival had brought in many strangers. It
wasn't unusual. But then they had struck, pouring onto the stage and
grabbing Celeste, yelling about demands and gifts and someone named
Mr. Lawrence, saying awful things about what would happen to her
sister if the dragonriders didn't come.

Cherry hadn't stayed to listen, they were dragging the shocked
Celeste off the stage, and she could see Freddie and Dalph near the
front of the crowd by the stage, holding the furious Ryan back to
keep him from being killed by the rough men taking the girl away.
The men from the orchard might be big and strong but they were no
match for the armed assailants. Celeste was promised to Ryan...

Cherry rounded the curve and saw the tower rising up in the distance
over the walls of Voldarra. Seeing their goal coming closer, she
****ged Sampson again, and clenched her jaw as she bounced harder
against the saddle as the horse raced down the road. It seemed
impossible that only this morning she'd won the medal in the pancake
race, beating even Freddie despite the horridly tight bodice and the
blasted skirts of the dress her mother had made her wear for the
festival, and now..

She had ran straight to the stables, just outside of the village,
her only thought to get the dragonriders like the attackers had
wanted. They'd give Celeste back if they got what they wanted.
She grabbed Sampson who was in his stall nearest the door, but she
knew it was a long way to the dragonrider outpost on the northern
road. She saddled him and bridled him as fast as she could, but she
could still hear the crowd start screaming before she managed to lead
him out of the stables and to the old stump so she could get up on
his back. He was big, maybe fourteen hands high, and she'd never
been so high up on a horse before, but fear for Celeste spurred her
on anyway. That was all that mattered. She had to save Celeste.
Cherry rode Sampson straight up to the open gate of Voldorra before
she hauled back on Sampson's reins to stop him. The guard took one
look at the panicked girl in the torn blue dress and tangled brown
hair and stepped forward to grab the exhausted cart horse's reins
from her. "What's your business girl?"

"Dragonriders.need. Ravensvale attacked. Took my sister. Help."

Respectfully submitted by,

Cherry
Aka Bianca Payne

Summary:

Cherry rides to Voldorra looking for dragonriders at the outpost
there after her village of Ravensvale is attacked and her sister
kidnapped.
