Subject: DLC: Attention Attracted

Day 7 Morning
Training Field

No sooner did Tatezi touch ground then Param took to the air, unlike
the
last pair with his rider mounted. At first nobody really paid much
attention, as Param, at 40" was almost the size of an adult, and with
Cholmon's small size the pair looked just as any normal mounted pair
would
save Param's white color.

Cholmon and Param went through theexercise with ease, riding the
thermals,
banking and turning just like the grown-ups did. It was strange, the
other
dragons never talked to Param just as the other riders never talked to
Cholmon. The pair just watched while the others learned their lessons
at a
normal pace. Cholmon and Param were different. They worked harder,
much
harder, putting in untold extra hours of practice each and every day.
Param
was not only larger than his clutchmates, he was also considerably
stronger
and better coordinated. Cholmon too was quite different than her
classmates, despite being roughly the same age, she had learned much
in a
lifetime of suffering, hard work and soul-crushing loss.

"Look at how they fuss over a simple landing" Param said to his rider.
Cholmon patted his neck as she gave the mental signal to practice what
THEY
had been working on.

"What are they doing?" Rowan asked E'thn as she saw Param and Cholmon
bank
sharply and pick up a bit of altitude and then suddenly turn into a
full
power-dive, heading straight for the ground.

Soon all eyes were on the white dragon and the mysterious nomad woman
who
always wore two swords as they hurtled at ever increasing speed
straight for
the ground. Just as everyone thought perhaps it was a suicide
attempt,
Param pulled a hard right and brought up his nose, barely missing the
ground
by under a meter, he skimmed the ground for a good 100 meters at over
70
MPH., then pulled back up and circled around to the landing area.

Finally, just as easily, he spread his wings and shrugged off speed
before
coming to a perfect landing with very few follow-up steps, again just
like
the adult dragons did.

<tag anyone interested>

Respectfully (and briefly) submitted

Andrew F.
Cholmon and Param of Cleft Warren
