Subject: [USS-CAPRICORN] - Jeepers, Creepers
MD 3
[SNIP]
"Yes, I'm fine, Dr." Avi said, standing up. He could see the doctor
cringe
for a slight moment, nearly imperceptible to the eye. Once she saw he
was
fully clothed, however, she relaxed ever so slightly.
"I'd recommend you prepare a potential away team. When Commander
Phillips
goes down to the planet, she may need at least one medical officer."
"Of course, sir."
'Good."
"Thank you sir." She said, leaving his room.
[END SNIP]
Miaren hurried back to her office in the Medical Center and began
preparations for being part of the away team. She was excited,
nervous and
wondering what in the blooming bloody hell she was thinking for having
agreed to this mission.
She was here for patients, and now that she had a ship full of them,
why was
she going to the surface? They had all those science people. But as
she
went through the part of the instruction manual that was kept in the
office
that explained all the procedures of how Medical would handle certain
events, incidents from minor injuries to full scale war.
She read the chapter on the mission of the away teams, and saw how she
was
needed, and all that she could offer to the team and the other
residents on
the surface. She called in her personal assistant, Myrah and told her
what
the Captain had shared with her. Myrah smiled and nodded and calmed
the
young doctor down. She was an older woman, who had been with
StarFleet for
almost as long as Miaren had been alive. She nodded and added
suggestions
as to what Miaren should plan for, how to pack for such events, and
how to
get the most in such a small pack.
Miaren relaxed with her help and they chatted while Myrah gave her
some
pointers, and also promised she would do fine, and she would stay
behind and
keep things in order and running smoothly until her return.
When Miaren got the call she left to join the others in the
transporter room
and tried her hardest to look professional. She glanced at the others
as
she waited, and hoped Myrah was right and she would slip into the way
of
things easily. . . and then her stomached lurched. She felt quite
nauseated and dizzy and the next thing she knew she was standing, or
rather
her knees buckled and she leaned into a small rock formation to catch
her
breath.
19:00
Miaren watched for a moment as the team hustled and bustled into
activity
and like busy bees or ants, they scurried to and fro collection what
ever
data they needed.
Once Miaren had her sea legs, or land legs, she busily set up her kit
and
began to take readings on the surrounding area. She took readings
from each
one of the members of the team. She had done so before they left, so
she
would have her base reading, and then she would monitor them at
different
times to see if the radiation and other possible factors would be
having any
kind of effect on them.
She marked and noted her surroundings and made notes of some of the
comments
the others made to each other. She had given Ury some space for him to
check
out the abandoned craft, and when he had given it a clear sign, she
went in
to take a look around.
Miaren searched the ship for any signs that might show them how badly
they
had been hurt or injured. Were there any signs that they walked off,
left
behind a message, dragged anyone out?
She could find nothing, but more questions. She went back and
reflected on
what Istria had spoken to her or the incident. She went down her
memory of
the list of things she had managed to get her hands on, and some
evasive
answers from her father, and his mild gentle warning not to rock the
boat.
She had given him her promise not to, and that she would make sure all
would
be safe and there would be no harm done to anyone.
Just then as she was getting ready to step from the vessel, she heard
a soft
voice, and she looked up to see a man step from the bushes and greet
them.
She instinctively held up her tricorder and took his readings. She
glanced
down and saw that he was human or humanoid at best, and she continued
her
readings, and even scanned the area to see if he was alone.
There was a hint of other life forms, that just earlier had not been
there,
so she concluded he was not alone, but then that really would have
been
foolish on his part.
She listened to him speak, and she was suddenly assaulted with a sense
of
foreboding, or just something not right. What was it? She felt the
minute
hairs rise in warning.
[SNIP]
Montana smiled at the marquis. "But then who might have activated the
distress signal?"
"Why, I did of course." The Marquis stated as if that were a perfectly
normal thing to do and no one seemed inclined to wonder why he
wouldn't.
[END SNIP]
Miaren listened quietly to the banter between the team and their
unexpected
host. When she heard his reply, her first thought was why? Why did
he turn
on the beacon? Is there someone here that needed help? She looked at
her
tricorder and pondered the readings. They appeared normal, and as she
studied him he did too.
She wondered where all of "his" people were, since this was "his"
planet.
Other questions swirled around her head, and she could not seem to
grasp
them fast enough to place them in any sense of order.
Everyone around her seemed to relax and not view him as a threat.
Miaren
wondered what was wrong with her. She did not feel relaxed, she felt
more
nervous and on guard. She did have to admit his smooth tones of his
speech
swirled around her enticing her, beckoning her to follow.
She fought the feeling she was being surrounded with, and focussed on
the
warning her body felt. She sent the readings before she talked
herself out
of it.
[TAG - Ok Josh and Tree - what happens next? TAG Carina, Miaren just
sent
you her findings on him.]
[Summary]
Miaren to told by the Captain to prepare to be part of the away team.
She
goes to pack and prepare, and is counseled by Myrah who is her
assistant and
has been on them before. Miaren then proceeds to go to the planet,
and
begins her first away mission.
When the Marquis shows up, Miaren is unsettled by him, and sends her
findings back to the ship to be analyzed.

In one paragraph I had made a mistake by not pausing and pointing out
who
offered what so it should have read as follows. Rachel I'm sorry for
any
inconvenience it was unintentional.
Jason and Sybil had been waiting for a time. Sybil had made advances
on
Jason and Lyinn. Sybil even offered a threesome while they waited on
the
Duchess. When the searchlings exited Sybil quickly looks the lot over
for
those she might consider pursing she spotted Weya and a smile quickly
came
to her lips. "Ah my sweet I see you too have been in to see the
Duchess.
Isn't' she just so regal? Makes you want to just eat her all up."
