Subject: [USS Calypso] Confusion
Scene: OPS, Starbase 10 MD 4:0950
Lorn hung back a bit while the others looked over the floating bodies.
'Never a boring day, is it?' He thought ruefully to himself.
He tapped his commbadge. "Mitchell to Lt Freda. Find anyone else?"
<Not yet, sir.> Came back the terse reply. He thought he could hear a
bit of
an edge in her voice, but quickly dismissed it. He had only met her a
couple
of times, really. For all he knew, she was always like that.
"Okay, well, keep looking. We have the nine here. See if you can find
others. Mitchell out."
He doubted there would be any more, but they had to search, just in
case. He
turned back to the two younger officers. "Let's see what else we can
discover about these, shall we?"
Taking a deep breath, Lorn approached one of the bodies cautiously. He
scanned with his tricorder, examining the data that was being
gathered. Good
health, no apparent wounds, though the brain activitiy seemed a bit
strange
for someone in a coma. If, indeed, that is what they were in. Unease
ate
away at him, and instinct had him pulling out his phaser, just in
case.
They continued their investigation, conjecturing with each other, but
not
making any real headway. Ensign Coltraine was in a bit over his head
with
the science and medical talk. Ensign Conner had a couple of ideas, but
couldn't really say anything without proper scanning equipment. And
though
Lorn tried to keep up with recent medical advances, his own training
was a
few years out of date by now. The only one who seemed to have a chance
to
put it all together was Doctor Wreyn, but she kept quiet, ****ing over
the
information they gathered.
Louie asked if they should begin making a more thorough investigation
of the
bodies. Lorn nodded non-commitally as he walked back around to side of
the
first victim. He tapped his commbadge to re****t back to the captain,
when
suddenly a hand shot out and grabbed his forearm.
Lorn hesitated for a moment, his eyes locking on with the scientist
who
grabbed him. Hollow, angry eyes glared back up at him. The man opened
his
mouth, but rather than a voice, he made a sound akin to a windstorm,
and his
grip tightened around Lorn's forearm. Recovering from his moment of
light-headedness, Lorn fired his phaser at the man, who promptly
passed out
and crashed to the floor.
Breathing a bit heavily, Lorn took a couple of steps back, noticing
the
others pulling back away from the other eight bodies. Doctor Wreyn
quickly
came over to him. "Are you okay, Commander?" She asked, beginning to
scan
him.
Lorn waved her off. "I'm fine doctor, just a bit startled, is all."
After a
moment, she nodded and knelt down to the fallen man, beginning her
medical
scans on him. "What about the others?" Lorn asked.
Louie and Saijin began their own scans as Lorn made his way to the
Operations control panel. He paused for a moment, then tapped a
button.
"Come." He said.
The others turned and looked at the First Officer quizzically.
"Computer,
engage Level 10 force field around Operations."
"Commander ...?" Louie began, as Lorn looked up at the 'raspberry'
sound of
the malfunctioning computer.
Lorn looked at the Ensign. "It seems that this will have to be done
the
difficult way."

"Clear that up I can't understand him! Number One repeat that last
message!"
Brant commanded leaning forward in his chair.
"Sir, our communications are being jammed!"
"What? How?" Brant demanded.
A moment's calculation seemed like an eternity. "From the cloaked
****p,
Captain!"
"Freda? Can you hear me?" The Captain called out.
<Aye sir!> Came the prompt reply.
"Commander Mitchell's team is in trouble. Get back to Operations
immediately."
<On it, sir.>
"Captain!" Tactical called out. "The ****p, it's moving."
Brant looked out at the viewscreen, examining the black space in a
vain hope
of seeing the ****p. "Where is it going?"
Another eternity. "Towards Starbase 10, sir, at full speed."

Mitchell attempted to raise his hand that was holding the phaser, but
succeeded in raising it only half-way. A snarl swept across his face.
"Take
them." He ordered.
Around and behind the three officers, the eight remaining bodies
stirred
from their stasis, and stood up with hands outstretched ...
NRPG: More excitement for everyone!
Chris, aka Commander Lorn Mitchell, still XO of the USS Calypso?

Subject: [DL-N] Sorrows of the night!
Day 6 Evening
Breezy sighed with relief and was overjoyed when she saw the willowy
blonde appear. She knew how hard this was for the young woman and
admired her courage.
[I think Malani's rider has taken the final step.] Coo's words came
softly and Breezy nodded thoughtfully, *Yes she has, Jeneve has grown
into the person she was meant to be, and I couldn't be prouder despite
the cir***stances!*
{True, but at what cost, as you humans say?]
Realizing what was happening when Galen starting walking towards
Jeneve, Breezy started forward. [Very possibly her sanity," the
redhead quipped throught the link when she saw the Warrenlady's
sheepish look her direction. *I can't believe she wou...*
The Sr. Wingleader's thoughts were interrupted when a hand came down
on her shoulder stopping her. Glancing up she found Vasklar standing
next to her and frowned. Leaning close the searcher whispered. "Leave
him be, he'll be fine! You can Mother him later!"
With a small sigh Breezy's shoulders drooped. Vasklar was right of
course, as much as she hated to admit it. With a resigned nod she
stepped back between the Searcher and the Alpha Wingleader who was
gazing at her knowingly.
Watching her lover tore at Breezy's heart. Galen's face was etched
with deep sorrow and she noticed a faint pained wince every so often
as he slowly made his way to the small stand.
Peeking up from under her lashes at the man next to her Breezy sighed
inwardly feeling a small stab of sadness at the announcement he had
made earlier. He and 'his sister' would be leaving soon. Vasklar had
finally 'confessed' to their family ties yesterday, and of course only
gave her enough information to be irritating, and they had ended up
arguing about it as usual. She simply couldn't understand his need to
leave, he had admitted that he didn't' quite know why himself, just
that he must. Twins, he'd told her and at first the little Wingleader
had been a bit surprised, siblings maybe, but not twins, yet the
obvious traits were there that she knew she couldn't ignore.
Strangely enough she would miss him, despite their arguing she had
grown to care about the man from beyond deeply. Of course that's when
she wasn't wanting to choke that stupid grin off his face. The
Searcher had become like a pesky little brother that was constantly
poking for a reaction. However, his 'real' sister, she wouldn't miss.
Runa irritated her to know end and Breezy wasn't sure why. At first
she thought that deep down maybe she was just being jealous, but that
wasn't it at all. There was just something seriously wrong the way
Runa appeared "to run Vasklar" kind of like she owned him and Breey
felt this need to protect him from the 'big bad redhead!" But,
considering how they acted with each other really had Breezy wondering
which one of them had been his lover and which was really his sister.
She knew it would be hard for Coo having them go, the sea-green dragon
had grown quite fond of her battle scarred snuggle partner, plus the
fact that Hunter was the father of her one egg. How the large
aquamarine male felt about this move she didn't know, and so far Coo
refused to discuss it.
Galen's hesitation at the podium brought her out of her reverie and
Breezy watched as the trainer carefully stepped up onto the stand.
Respectfully submitted by,
Tree Deutscher
AKA
Breezy and Coo
***Summary***
Day 6 Evening
Vasklar stops Breezy from being too foolish and the little redhead
