Subject: [DL-D] A friendly wager

<snip>

Thea just shook her head and for once cut to the fine points for she
didn't
want to spend more time in Sybil's company then she could help. Leaning
back
against her desk and crossing her arms. "Something is going on in the
warren
I believe we have at least one spy if not more. Last night I found this
on
my bed." She tossed a dagger on the table between the two. The blade
was
nearly nine inches the hilt was nearly half that in the shape of two
s****s
twined together and coming face each other at the very end.

"Oh man," Jason observed with a disappointed voice, "how come
queenriders
get all the fun? I never had anyone come after me personally before."

"Oh really?" Sybil purred with a wicked grin. "Perhaps you've been
hanging
around the wrong people."

"True," Jason offered with a dead straight face. "Although a knife is
just
plain kinky. You'd have to trust the one wielding it." The Alpha
wingleader
raised an eyebrow in question.

"Oh? Well if you're interested I can arrange a demonstration."

"Perhaps sometime," Jason allowed. Before he could continue, Thea
interrupted them in a slightly angry tone.

"Will you two cut that out and get serious! It's as if you don't care I
had
a direct threat against my life!"

"Well," Jason offered with a slight shrug, "if someone really wanted to
kill
you, they certainly could have." He grinned. "You could take it as
somewhat
of a compliment. Someone recognizes you as enough of a threat to want
to
kill you, but is just afraid of you and the dragonriders enough that
they
didn't go all the way."

"Or they want to frighten you into backing down," Sylvie commented, her
tone
of voice serious for once. "As in, they got in once, so there's nothing
to
stop them getting in again."

"Any ideas whom it might be?" Thea sounded worried, but kept herself
composed.

"Could be anyone," Jason said with another shrug, "although it doesn't
sound
very much like the style of the wyverns, does it? I think if they had
the
chance to kill you, or any of us, they would."

"Are you sure you're not discrediting their intelligence a little?"
Thea
fretted. "I'd hate to underestimate them and then have it come back and
haunt us later."

"Well it's all speculation at this stage," Sylvie opinioned, flicking
her
hair back and sighing slightly. Her eyes narrowed. "Have you thought
about
it not having anything to do with the wyverns at all? How about Lord
Gossimor? Someone might have issue with us showing our sup****t for
him."

"She has a point there," Jason replied thoughtfully. "We can't assume
that
the wyverns are our only enemy these days. Dragonriders aren't
as.popular
with the public as we might like to think." He grinned. "Of course that
usually lasts right up until wraiths start waltzing through people's
towns."

"Well I'd like you two to look into security around the warren," Thea
stated, standing up in an indication that the meeting had come to an
end.
"Do what you have to do, but don't alarm people if you can help it."
They
both nodded and stood up, Jason pausing thoughtfully on the way to the
door
to pick up the knife from the desk.

As the door closed behind them, Jason turned to Sylvie and grinned
wickedly.

"I wonder if Thea was alone last night when someone slipped this into
her
bed?" Sylvie chuckled.

"Well if she wasn't, then she's been hiding her kinky side," she
smirked.
"Perhaps she could introduce me."

"Thought you'd say that," Jason laughed. He eyed his fellow wingleader
and
smiled a little. She noticed and raised an eyebrow.

"Come on, do tell." Jason grinned.

"Oh, I just noticed you before eyeing up out lovely little huntress
with
some interest."

"Oh yes," Sylvie purred, "the luscious Weya. Such a tasty little treat
isn't
she?"

"Indeed she is," Jason replied, the little mysterious smile still on
his
face. "Still innocent and unspoiled, would be a shame to change that
really."

"But at the same time, sooo much fun," Sylvie sighed. She regarded
Jason for
a moment and then matched his grin. "Ooo, do I sense a challenge?"

"Perhaps," Jason smirked. Sylvie grabbed Jason's arm and pushed him
against
the wall, leaning in so her body rubbed against his.

"Be serious if you are going to be, but don't tease," she said softly,
her
voice having a fine edge of malice that sent a thrill down his spine.
He
leant in close to her ear and spoke softly.

"Very well, a wager then," he breathed into her neck. "Whoever can get
Weya
voluntarily in bed with them and show her the pleasures of the body
first
wins. No drugs, no forcing her, no blackmail." Sylvie ****vered against
him,
the thought of what he described making her flush slightly.

"And what does the winner get," she replied, a shark-like grin
spreading
over her face. Jason matched it perfectly.

"You mean apart from the satisfaction of the looser knowing that they
shall
never have been her first?" Sylvie giggled.

"Oh that would be delicious, but if we're going to bet, then it has to
be
serious, doesn't it?" Jason chucked.

"Okay, we'll make it serious then. The winner gets to have the looser
for
whatever they want for a day." Sylvie stepped back a little, not even
attempting to hide the soft gasp that slipped out.

"Are you serious?"

"Would I lie about something as im****tant as this?" Jason said calmly,
pu****ng off the wall and strolling off down the hall. "Just remember
the
rules m'dear. Oh, and we have to meet up about the duchess' nighttime
companion later on." He left Sylvie mildly speechless as he exited the
hall,
twirling the dagger between his fingers as he went.
