Before Midnight
"PSST! PSSST!" [Chamelle, are you sleeping?]
<I was! What is it, Flerrion?>
[Ishtar.]
Chamelle came slowly awake, <What about Ishtar? Is it the wyverns? Are
they giving her rider nightmares again?>
[It is the wyverns, but I don't think it had anything to do with
nightmares. She says she needs some heroes, and other than me, you are
the nearest thing to a hero around here, you know the way you went
after Almantha in Osran and everything....]
Chamelle couldn't help but grin at the compliment, <Why, thank you,
Flerrion. But you still haven't explained what it is that Ishtar needs
heroes for?>
[A very dangerous mission,] Flerrion replied.
Chamelle nodded, <And what is this mission?>
[Umm... well, you know I don't really know. She just told me she needed
dragons for a dangerous mission, and um... well, I told her I'd help
her find some!]
<Ah...> Chamelle sent an inquiry to Ishtar, <Ishtar, Flerrion just woke
me and he's asking me to accompany you on a dangerous mission. Can you
tell me about this mission?>
[That we go into the tunnels under the barracks.] Ishtar sent back.
<Why?> Chamelle asked.
[To find out where the wyverns came from, and stop them from ever
coming here again,> Ishtar answered.
<Oh!> This was total madness, Chamelle thought and then chuckled, as
she glanced over at Flerrion, but if he were going, how could she not?
<Well... good thinking! Count me in!> Chamelle replied, then she turned
to Flerrion who was still going on about heroes never asking about the
task, but ru****ng in where fools feared to tread and other things.
<Flerrion, I'll go.>
[You have to be ready when the call comes. That's what heroes, do. They
fight the fight. They jump to the challenge. They... What did you say?]
<Flerrion.... I'll go. Come on. We're meeting Ishtar and some others
over by the searchling barracks.>
[Ah, good! How did you know where to meet her?]
<I asked.> Chamelle chuckled.

Summary:
Day 106
Just before midnight.
Flerrion wakes Chamelle and tells her that Ishtar needs heroes, and
since he considers her one, she should come. Chamelle asks Ishtar about
the "dangerous mission" and learns of her plan to attack the wyverns in
their den. Chamelle decides to join the team.
