Day 8 Late morning

"Purity, I'm ok! It's fine, really it is!" Delilah exclaimed mentally
to the hovering ivory hatchling as she dabbed at the blood on her split
lip. The blow from the stableman had brought back horrible memories and
she was fighting inwardly to keep her emotions in check. It wasn't the
blow so much, but her reaction to it that frightened her. The rage and
hatred that had erupted inside her at that moment had scared Delilah in
ways she couldn't even begin to fathom. She had literally wanted to
kill Justin and do it without remorse or mercy.

Afterwards she'd put on a brave face for her Uncle and the others so
that they would leave her alone, but her new bondmate could feel her
fears and was terribly worried flitting around her, nosing and nuzzling
her and chattering incessantly about the bad man. Unfortunately she
couldn't get her lip to quit bleeding and she was due to be out on the
green for the beginning of the training. Delilah really wasn't happy
about this as it meant being in a group, something she no longer
desired. Hopefully it wouldn't last long.

<Pearl says his rider is coming to fix you! Isn't he the most
bootifulest dragon in the whole world! He's even purdier than Momma and
she is the purdiest ever! And he's the most bravest too, he told me so
already!" The little pearly snout swung around in consternation. <You
know maybe it's because he's kind of funny colored like me and not the
others?>

Deliah sank back on her heels with a sigh, there was definitely a
distinct difference between dragons and horse. Horses didn't talk.
"**Purity, I'm fine I don't need the hearler, I'm sure he has his hands
full with a lot more im****tant things then a split lip**" She thought
and spoke aloud.

"Ah, but untreated split lips can also be dangerous too." Jale answered
kneeling down next to her with his usual gentle manner.

<Oooohhhh rider...> Purity crooned in awe as her little head slowly
lifted to take in the huge pearly snow white male standing behind the
man.

Delilah made a face wincing at the pain in her lip trying to hide a
smile.

<Rider, don't you think he's bootiful, and he's so nice too! Hey what
are you doing there? > She asked her attention drawn to the man as he
set the bundle he'd been carrying on the ground next to him. As soon as
Jale opened his medicine bag the curious dragonette shoved her head and
snuffled around sending a multitude of questions to Delilah. The look
on the woman's face brought a smile of amusement from the healer.

As the little one ****ged everything with her snout the bag suddenly
grew quite warm inside and the pearly head popped out with a start with
Purity finding herself 'nose to nose' with the much larger Pearl.

With a high pitched squeal Purity tumbled backwards into Delilah,
blu****ng furiously the little hatchling scrambled around to hide behind
the woman.

Jale laughed, "Why she's actually blu****ng! I don't think I've ever
seen a dragon blush before! At least not like that!"

The tiny white head peered shyly around Delilah's arm, the deep crimson
of her scaly 'cheeks' a sharp contrast to her light champagne coloring.

Tag: Eddie, I do believe Pearl has an adoring fan. :D

Day 8 LateMorning

<Snip>

Sara was watching from distance with a sword that she found after all
that happened in the hatching cave.

<Sara please don't.> came Harmony's plea,< It's wrong even though every
one says he deserves it.>

The young seamstress apprentice just ignored her dragon's cries and
charged forward ready to cleave her own father in two. Selena quickly
drew her sword and disarmed Sara before she could get close enough.

Sara looked up at her hero in disbelief." Why?" was all the she asked.

<End Snip>

Jeneve's terrified gasps at the exchange of dragon, man, daughter and
Homeguard Captain brought Breezy back to reality. Burying her face in
her hands she rubbed her fingers through her hair digging her
fingernails into her scalp in irritation. Sometimes it just wasn't fun
being civilized and having to play by the rules. But that's exactly
what she had to do. As much as she disliked Justin and at the moment
had no problem with letting him be a dragon snack Breezy knew that it
was her job to make sure the situation was taken care of properly and
without bias which, was going to be extremely hard to do. Being a
'fair' and 'responsible' leader really sucked at times.

[But you do it so well!] Coo commented bringing a snort from the petite
woman whom moved to Sara's side before Stretch offered to help the girl
finish the job. With a warning glance to Selena she took the sword
silently motioning to the homeguard Captain to get the stableman out
before they had a riot. A mob mentality was brewing which could be
deadly if it wasn't nipped in the bud. Then she sent a message through
Coo for the riders to help the Homeguard restore order.

Facing the angry young girl Breezy's own face softened "You know Sara,
I asked the same question years ago about my own father! There is no
easy answer I can give you, I wish there were!" Wrapping her free
around the girls shoulder giving her a gentle hug Breezy sighed. "I
wish I could take away the pain that your Pa has caused you hon, and
even your Ma by not being there for you when you needed her. But I
can't but I can tell you he's not worth losing yourself over, because
that's what would happen if you used that sword. Sara, I've known you
long enough to know you wouldn't hurt a living soul man or animal, and
as angry as you are with your Pa right now, you'd never be able to live
with yourself if you did."

Breezy watched Sara's eyes closed tightly against the torrent of
emotion, her chin dropping almost to her chest in defeat as tears
cascaded down her cheeks.. "I know!" She whispered "I hate him Breezy!"
She choked out a sob sinking down into the warm sand.

Dropping the sword the little Wingleader sat down next to her and
enfolded the young girl in her arms. "I feel so lost and angry! Why did
he do this?" she mumbled sliding her arms around the wingleader to hug
her tightly.

"I know Sweetie, oh how I know!" Breezy's eyes grew bright with unshed
tears as the two sat huddled together, each fighting their own inner
demons. Finally the redhead broke the silence that surrounded them,
"He's not worth your anger Sara, neither he or your mother. It's hard I
know they are your parents hon but they have chosen their path and you
now have to try and find yours. You've got to find a way to let this go
somehow so it doesn't eat you up inside!" Gently stroking Sara's long
silky hair to calm her the redhead pursed her lips solemnly before
continuing, "Today your life was changed forever and you have to move
on. Harmony has chosen you Sara, she is now part of you in ways that
will take a lifetime to understand. Dragons are great and wise
creatures and they never choose wrong!"

Big blue eyes drifted across the cavern noting that the cave was almost
empty except for a few stragglers including Jeneve who sat with her
saddened queen. A tender smile came to her face as her eyes met the
deep compassion in Coo's emerald gaze. As if by unspoken command the
peachy colored hatchling nosed her way under Breezy's arms and the
smile turned into a chuckle as she leaned back so that Harmony could
nestle into her rider's arms. "Sara, this little darling is now your
heart mate, body and soul you belong together. She is your destiny and
trust me, she'll help you find your way."

The seamstress's apprentice, now dragonrider chewed her bottom lip for
a brief moment before she broke into a teary smile hugging the little
dragonette's neck so tightly that Harmony soon squeaked in protest.

[You know Sister, you are a big softie at heart.]

*Yeah, yeah, whatever!* Breezy sniffed irritably to cover up the deep
emotions the scene had brought to the surface. Rising to her feet she
brushed the sand off her pants.

"I do believe that another bucket of meat would be in order for Miss
Harmony." She said motioning to one of the few helpers still left.
"Hatchlings are bottomless pits these first few days as you will soon
learn!" Breezy chuckled rubbing the little females chin affectionately.
Then gently lifting Sara's chin with her finger so the girl faced her
the Wingleader smiled in reassurance. "It's going to be okay Sara, you
two are going to be just fine! Hon, if you need me for anything at all
you know where to find me." Glancing down at Harmony then over at Coo
she chuckled, "And it will be even easier now."

Stepping back as one of the young men brought a bucket of fresh meat
Breezy noticed a blonde head peeking into the cave. "I do believe there
is someone worried about you hon! You know Sara, with everything that's
happened if you don't feel comfortable staying in the trainee's
barracks I don't think Galen would have a problem if you and Harmony
stayed with Brenna and Fiona for a few days until things blow over. Of
course Fiona will probably spoil Harmony to death," She added
remembering how motherly the woman had been with Coo when she'd first
hatched. "It's up to you though."

Giving Sara's shoulder a gentle squeeze Breezy wandered off towards the
Warrenlady debating on how to word her apology that she knew must be
given.

Tag: Max if you want to carry on and Carina, so what's Breezy gonna
say?
