Oriana had gone to one end of the green and settled down once she'd
left Aeryth to her unpacking and setting up house. One thing she had
learned was to avoid being near her Rider when the human was forced to
organize things. It put her in a nasty mood and she tended to throw
things. All things considered, it was safer to be outside. And here
she could watch the young dragons playing tag. It was something she'd
enjoyed with her own hatchmates and it made her a little nostalgic.
Just then, the largest of the young ones went into a dive and Oriana
watched with interest as the young one brought it into a glide and was
about to land. When the young female stumbled and fell on landing, the
fall being followed by a mental broadcast of distress, she'd first
assumed that perhaps the little one had hurt herself. But then she got
up and started keening. Oriana looked around, a little alarmed since
this type of extreme distress usually coincided with another dragons'
death, but there was nothing out of the ordinary.
Aeryth had been just about finished with setting up her things, in fact
she was down to just putting away clothing, when the keening started.
The clothes fell from her suddenly nerveless fingers as she turned and
ran for the ledge of her warren. <~Oriana! What happened?~>
The silvery-green dragons' head turned in the direction of her warren
and rider. <~I do not know, my Rider. The little one keening does not
seem to be injured, nor are there any other dragons about who seem to
be harmed, yet she is quite upset.~>
<~Well, come up and get me. If something *has* happened, I would like
to know what is going on. And if it hasn't, I'd still like to take a
look around. Since my guide hasn't showed up yet, I suppose I'll just
wander about on my own. Even though it does mean being around large
amounts of strangers.~>
<~I'm coming,~> Oriana replied as she started to lift off from the
green. When she reached the ledge, Aeryth backed up to give her room
to land. Upon returning to the green, in nearly the same spot they'd
landed when they'd arrived, Aeryth slid to the ground and headed toward
the ground-level buildings and such. As she walked, she hummed a
little to herself.
