Subject: [DL-D] Say Something!
Day 108 Late Afternoon
The copper queen stretched languidly across 'her' rock rolling on her
back. Even though she knew Ishtar and a few of the others were up to
something that she should probably know about she felt icky all over
and wiggling vigorously to scratch the crackling skin on her spines
felt extremely good so decided against sticky her nose into it.. She
had hit another growth spurt, which meant shedding once again.
Lady G had assured her that this was a normal process for young dragons
and that it would lessen, as she grew older. Of course that didn't make
Almantha feel any better as every inch of her itched like crazy and
there wasn't enough oil in the warren to ease the discomfort she felt.
Unfortunately, being a queen she grew faster and was getting much
bulkier then the other dragons her age so considering the last few
weeks she was sure it was going to become a permanent affliction. The
only good thing about it was that with each shed her color deepened to
a more creamy metallic copper and the flecks of gold adorning her
scales were growing more pronounced making her even more beautiful then
she already was. A fact which she pointed out to Samson and Flerrion,
and any of the others who would listen whenever she could.
Samson lazed high on his ledge watching Almantha's movements with sharp
interest. Normally he wouldn't bother wasting precious snooze time on
the brat, he had his hands full between patrols and hunting for both
him and the golden queen, so naps were at a premium. But there was
something different about her today, something he couldn't quite put a
claw on. He also saw that he wasn't the only one noticing either, as
several pairs of draconian eyes were glued to the fledging queen as she
continued to wiggle and rub her way across the large rock slab.
[..] In the Med Center
Pandora leaned back in her chair rubbing her stiff neck with a sigh. It
seemed at times that the paperwork was endless. If she wasn't doing
reports here, she was helping take the load off Thea. Thankfully, she
was very organized so had developed her own little system to keep
abreast of it all. But there was times it got ahead of her and was a
bit overwhelming, like now. Plus it was rather warm out today which
didn't help.
Blinking to rid herself of the weariness she felt Pandora was unable to
hold back a yawn. Stretching she yawned again and decided that a walk
would help get the juices flowing again and chase away that tired
feeling.
Walking through the Med Center she popped her head in this doorway and
that, just to say hello to several of the patients on her way out for
some fresh air. A strange tingling on her skin had Pandora scratching
her arms and made her think of Almantha. The queen was shedding again,
the third time this month and she wondered if it would ever end.
Thea had told her this was normal for young dragons' moreso for queens
since they grew faster and that it could be a trying time until the
young ones grew into their 'adult skin' and didn't shed quite so much.
Pandora had noted a brief flash of sympathy from the Duchess as
Almantha's discomfort with the whole process was quite well known.
Rubbing her arms to avert the tingling she couldn't help wonder if she
wasn't having sympathy pains for her soulmate.
Her limbs suddenly felt like lead and Pandora staggered slightly
feeling a bit light headed. Stopping to lean against the wall until the
dizziness pased she sighed inwardly. This was totally unacceptable,
obviously burning both candles at each end was getting too much for
her. She definitely needed to reorganize her time better, or needed to
get more sleep that was for sure.
A bead of sweat tricked down the side of her face and Pandora brushed
it away in annoyance. Sweating profusely now, she uttered a deep sigh
and wiped her forehead with her sleeve. She didn't have time for this,
all she needed was some fresh and she'd be good to go.
Out on her rock Almantha had managed to rub away most of the old scales
and was preening proudly, stretching her shimmering wings for all to
see. <I'm all brand new now and soooo beautiful!?> She quipped through
the link in a sing song tone.
*Yes you are.* Pandora answered absently her words sounding extremely
far away, as she made her way outside taking several deep breaths to
clear her head. Weaving slightly she looked out to the wings still
training on the green. It was getting late in the afternoon and she
knew they would be breaking soon for the dinner hour but then would
start again until dark. With the constant threat of the Wyverns, extra
patrols and training were now a constant.
The sun hung low in the sky and Pandora squinted trying to make out
T'rell in the group, hoping that he might have time to share a meal
with her. Realizing she hadn't eaten lunch the jr. queenrider was sure
that's why she felt so strange. Continuing to rub her arms to ward off
the tingling that was growing stronger she moved towards the green.
A few passerby's nodded their greetings then stopped to stare after the
wandering beauty whose odd glazed expression caused a bit of concern.
<<I'm so pretty! I'm so pretty! Almantha crooned through the link
flexing her wings to show off her brilliant colors. <<Rider, look at
me!>>
Palace had been watching the unsteady queenrider since she'd emerged
from the Med Center and hurried over to see if she was in distress.
Pandora stiffened when the warm hand came down on her shoulder. A flash
of heat seared through her body engulfing her to the core. Spinning to
face the man that dare touch her the azure eyes flashed blue fire as
Pandora echoed the age old scream that came from her queen. "YOU ARE
NOT WORTHY!" With a surge of strength the dainty queenrider's hard
shove to the big man's chest almost sent Palace sprawling as he gaped
at her in surprise.
[..]
......she was his! Nothing would stand in his way. The erotic movements
of the woman dancing before him burned into his mind as Lexi grabbed
for his twin. She was no longer his sister but a prize to be taken and
take her he would. Very few in the warren could match his and Samson's
brute strength, and the blacksmith and his dragon easily parted the
waves of contenders that would keep them from their prize.
Gauging his distance he eyed his only real competitor and taking his
measure make his move. Pivoting he made a quick sidestep and lunged
forward literally snatching the queenrider from the lusty throng to
enfold her tightly in his muscular arms. Despite her fierce struggles
he had her now she was his! He was the most worthy! But the victory was
to be short lived as his beautiful prize was miraculously snatched from
his grasp. Blinding pain exploded in his head and everything went dark
as Lexi crumbled to the ground at Sharees' feet.
The mating dance continued as Pandora's sensual movements and
Almantha's arousing taunts brought the males to a fever pitch. Mating
flights were a normal way of life in the warrens, but to win a queen
was special. For the male dragons being the most worthy meant that
their legacy would live on for generations to come if they were lucky
enough to sire a new queen. The pull of nature was too strong to be
avoided and a queen's flight was always faster, fiercer and lasted
longer as none were willing to yield. Unfortunately this had a tendency
to cause more then the normal injuries that came with the flights. But
injuries were ignored by the throng of lusty males in their desire to
champion for the young queen. Each knew there could be only one.
[..] A while later
Pandora stretched like a sleek cat snuggling up against the warm body
next to her. Strong arms pulled her close and she reveled in the
afterglow of the all-consuming sex of only a short time ago, her mind
still clouded with the overwhelming sensations coming from Almantha.
The hot breath and warm lips teasing the tender flesh of her neck had
the junior queenrider fairly purring in delight.
<<OHHH Rider! Wasn't that the most glorious .... I want more!>>
Feeling the fire in the pit of her stomach flame anew Pandora claimed
the wandering lips in a crushing kiss of passion only half listening to
the excited chattering of her queen.
<<...and he's so strong and smart and By....>>
Alarms bells clanged through the haze of passion clouding Pandora's
mind. Something was wrong, the kiss the body, none of it felt right.
Pushing away she finally opened her eyes to gaze up into the face of...
"DANG Miss Pandora! That was downright nice! Ya reckon we can do it
again???"
Pandora's eyes grew huge and she uttered a horrified squeak despite the
feelings that threatened to consume her once again. Guided by his own
dragons emanations Olaf didn't wait for an answer and his huge
wandering hands and lips were causing delicious sensations that
combined with the copper queen's over zealous desires made Pandora
helpless against nature's lusty call.
[..] Late night around 10ish
There was quite a party going on at the Lusty Duchess as Pandora walked
unsteadily to her apartment. Remembering the last time she'd foolishly
braved the outdoors after a mating flight she clung to the darkest
shadows to keep out of sight. Of course that flight then had, had
nothing to do with her and was definitely a night of confusion. But she
now understood and she really wished she didn't. The queenrider
supposed she should feel more devastated about the situation, but for
some reason she didn't. All she wanted to do is get home, take a hot
shower and eat everything in her cupboards. She really wanted to see
T'rell, he was her strength and yet, the fear of what she might see in
his eyes made her hesitate at every seeing him again. How could her
want her after this?
As badly as Pandora wanted to run and hide she knew she couldn't. For a
moment she thought to disturb Almantha at finding T'rell's whereabouts,
but quickly changed her mind, she was afraid of what the answer would
be. Pandora knew what happened amongst the losers in those first few
minutes after the flight was won and the thought of him in the arms of
another tore at her insides. She wanted desperately to believe that he
could stay strong, but after what she'd just been through...
[..]
Seeing Flerrion on her ledge brought a gasp of surprise from the jr.
queenrider. She knew she should be happy but for some reason it angered
her seeing the big male lazing there as if he didn't have a care in the
world. Making her way up the steps the crimson giant lifted his massive
head and reached to nuzzle her hand. Pandora jerked it away bestowing
on him an icy gaze. If her legs didn't feel like jello she would
probably kick him. "Traitor! How could you do this to me!" she hissed
and flung open the door to her apartment with a loud bang.
The Wingleader sat at the table with a mug of cold coffee in front of
him. It was obvious he'd dozed off by the way he jumped at the sound of
the slamming door.
Pandora's eyes flashed as she glared down at him, but beneath the anger
there was an underlying hurt that shown through like a shiny beacon.
"How could you T'rell?"
"Huh? What?" he exclaimed sleepily doing his best to hold back a yawn.
"Where were you? Why didn't you catch her?" The dark-haired woman
"Well..um...catching HER is technically not my job!" He answered
obviously caught off guard by her anger. Rising he moved to get himself
a fresh cup of coffee then winced when she roughly jerked open the
cupboard to grab out her cookie tin before slamming it shut.
<<Oooh Rider that was so wonderful!>> Almantha interjected into her
rider's mind.
"T'rell it's not funny!" Pandora quipped curtly ignoring the queen as
the tins dropped on the counter with a bang.
"I wasn't bei...."
<<I feel sooooo good! Don't you?>> came the queen's croon in Pandora's
mind
Ignoring the voice in her head, "It was supposed to be you! I can't
bel...." Bending to dig through the lower cupboards the Wingleader
inhaled sharply at the sight of the shapely backside raised in his
direction. The rattle of tins and kettles filled the apartment and
several loaves of bread, crocks, muffins and two different cakes
appeared on the counter causing the man to arch a brow. So that's where
she hid all the goodies.
Pandora continued her ranting, her words muffled by the fact that half
of her body was inside the heavy cabinet. "Why did....You should ....I
thought it was.....This is horri....."
<<Rider, you really should pay more attention to Byorn's rider!>>
Pandora cried out as her head smacked the underside of the shelf.
Backing out of the cupboard she quickly rose to her feet, her
voluptuous breasts heaving from her exertions. ""T'rell, why didn't you
win? It was supposed to be you!" She demanded in a sob rubbing her sore
head.
"Well, I..."
"Why didn't you try harder...oh, I wish I....!" Her bottom lip quivered
with emotion yet she knew she had to hang on to her anger or she'd
crumple into a simpering mess. She was absolutely and completely
embarrassed and found herself unable to look the man she loved in the
eye. She'd lived in the warren long enough to know the ropes and
despite knowing the consequences of being joined to a dragon, she just
never thought it would happen to her.
Her hands shook as she lopped off jagged slices of bread and grabbing
the nearest crock began to spread an herbal concoction on them. Wolfing
down the first piece she grabbed a muffin and shoved it in her mouth
while slicing one of the cakes all the while talking. Her words were
unintelligible but her tone was not, and T'rell watched her warily.
Grabbing the mug from the Wingleader's hand she took a big drink,
winced at the hot liquid then swallowed hard almost choking to clear
her mouth before shoving the mug back in his hand. "It was supposed to
be you!" Pandora quipped in an accusing tone.
<<You know Rider, maybe we could..>>
*DON'T even think about it!* Pandora replied tartly to the dazzled
queen.
Plopping a piece of chocolate cake on top of the bread she grabbed up
the combo and headed towards the bathroom pulling off the remnants of
her clothes with her free hand. "I'll never be able to show my face
again!"
It wasn't her face he was worried about at the moment as T'rell's head
cocked and he leaned to get a last look at Pandora's nude form as she
disappeared into the bathroom closing the door behind her.
[..]
T'rell was leaning against the counter holding his mug and munching on
a piece of cake when Pandora emerged from her shower. She was an
alluring sight with her damp hair clinging to her cheeks and wrapped in
a fluffy robe that set off her olive complexion to perfection. His gaze
roamed freely coming to rest on the enticing swells peeking invitingly
at him from beneath the white material. Pandora stared at the
Wingleader more in bewilderment now that she had calmed down somewhat.
But she was still hurt that he hadn't won and it showed. It was always
supposed to be him that she woke up with, in her mind there had never
been any other.
"Pandora," T'rell spoke hesitating as if gauging her mood. "You have to
unde.."
<<You know Rider, I think I really like mating flights. Byorn is
soooooo worthy!>>
"It was supposed to be you! It was always you!" She replied unable to
stop repeating herself.
"But, you.."
"I will never be able so show my face in the warren again!"
"Well, I don't...."
"T'rell! It's bad enough that you didn't win, but...but...
to..to....but to wake up with..." Pandora let out a sigh, her eyes
dropping to the floor. Pandora's cheeks flamed in embarrassment, her
natural insecurities taking over. Her voice cracked under the strain
she felt No, she wouldn't give into it and slowly raised her head. "To
wake up next to..to..OLAF of all people!"
<<Did you know Byorn's ...>>
*" ALMANTHA, WOULD YOU JUST SHUT UP!"* Pandora yelled in frustration
causing the Wingleader to gape in surprise. Taking a sip of coffee he
stared silently at her over the rim of the the mug for several long
moments.
"T'RELL!!! Say Something!"
NRPG: Um and that's a tag to you John! LOL
