Day 107
Afternoon

[SNIP]

"Come on, Dante let's go home..." Weya pulled on his hand.

He didn't resist; he let her lead him away. "Trust me Alton you and me
are going to have a talk!"

[END SNIP]

Weya slowly walked with Dante keeping her hand in his, and tugging at
him to
keep him close. She understood his irritation, and his anger, altho
she
knew deep down it was his fear that triggered all the other feelings.

"Let's get cleaned up a wee bit." She whispered softly as she looked at
him.
Neither had taken the brunt of the mess, but both had been tainted
from
it. She glanced a few times in his direction and watched his jaw clench
as
he seemed to try to steady his nerves.

Weya knew she would be able to put his mind at ease..she just had to
get his
attention first. She smiled as she reflected on their life together.
She
had learned many things of this man who walked beside her.

He was loyal and protective of those he cared for. He was also
stubborn and
tenacious as a rabid badger when he set his mind on a goal or cause.
She
stole a glance up and noticed the minute signs he was slowly calming
down.

Jacks helped them up to the ledge and without saying a word they went
into
their quarters. Weya looked around and smiled...in many ways like the
cave
they once shared she watched as he wandered around not saying a
word..picking up after the pups and trying to put things away.

Weya ducked into the bathing chamber and began to draw the water for
the
bath they would take. She knew he would not go first..but she knew he
needed to. She prepared the chamber and went to fetch him.

"Dante." She whispered and motioned him to follow her. He stepped into
the
chamber and stopped short. The warmth from the steamy water..the
scents
that swirled around and created an exotic respite. The soft glow from
the
candles made the room into almost a..shrine.

"Weya?" he asked softly not sure what was going on. Weya smiled and
proceeded to begin to strip his shirt off. He stood there watching her

until he realized what it was she was doing.

"Weya...I can do this..." he began nervously. Weya chuckled and
nodded.."Aye ya can, so I will let ya do the rest of it."

She smiled and slipped from the room until she heard after some
silence...him entering the tub. She waited for a few moments longer
and
went back in. Dante was lying back in the tub, eyes closed and altho
he
looked like he was sleeping...she knew he was not.

She knelt by the tub and began to wash his arm and neck; she saw him
flinch
at the first touch, but he smiled and allowed her to proceed.

"I am sorry to have worried ya so." She whispered as she leaned him
forward
to begin to wash his back. "I just could not let the twins go
alone...and
when Roxie showed up..." she left the sentence hanging.

"You all could have died in there." He replied softly, his voice
catching.

"I know and I see where I did not handle it right...I am sorry." She
offered. But in her heart she knew it was not enough. He was right,
they
could have all died...why did she think it was nothing and followed
them
without thinking a plan through?

She felt a soft warm soapy hand caress her cheek and she leaned into it
and
closed her eyes to revel the moment.

Dante leaned in and softly kissed her cheek. "My huntress."he
whispered
lovingly. He leaned in further and softly kissed her lips and wrapped
her in
his embrace. As the emotions surged between them he lifted her and Weya
gave
a cry of surprise as he dragged her into the tub.

She found herself cross-wise in his lap looking up into his face that
now
wore a rather smug grin.

She laughed and splashed him a bit. His returned laughter along with a

splash of his own brought shrieks and giggles that when mingled with
his own
chuckles seemed to help cut the tension and stress in the air.

Weya contemplated what she should do and then smiled. She knelt in
front of
Dante and began to wash his hair..as tho she had done so a hundred
times
before. Dante at first not sure what to say..or do..just smiled and
accepted her offer and closed his eyes and enjoyed the attention.

When she was done and began to move back a bit, his hand came out and
touched her arm. She looked up and he smiled back at her.

"Your turn." He replied. She smiled and turned around and Dante began
to
gently wash her hair. She leaned into his hand as they massaged her
scalp
and closed her eyes and enjoyed the sensations.

He enjoyed the feeling of her close, the scent of the candles and the
soft
suds of their bath. He liked the feel of touching her in this new way
and
gently rinsed all the suds away.

After an awkward moment of silence Weya rose out of the cooling water
and
stepped out of the tub. She grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her
and
laid out the one for Dante.
She smiled and nodded and slipped from the chamber to give him his
privacy.

Weya dried off enough to keep from making puddles on the floor and then

proceeded to strip out of her wet clothes. She dried off quickly and
found
her soft flannel nightshirt and got it on just as Dante stepped from
the
chamber wearing the flannels she had made him.

He smiled as he gazed on her, remembering how it felt to have her in
his
arms. The tangled curls still damp were beginning to tighten as they
dried
in the cool air. Weya felt a sudden flush and turned to hide her grin.

Dante's smiled turned to a frown as he watched her walk across the room
into
the small cooking area. He had not seen her scar in so long; she always

managed to keep it hidden from sight.

The purplish-red blotchy ragged looking scar stood out in stark
contract to
the rest of her smooth even toned skin. He swallowed hard as the sight
of it
brought back the memories of that night, the fear and anguish of almost

losing both her and Jacks.

"DAMN BEASTS!" he cried out slamming his fist into his hand in total
frustration.

Weya turned immediately as he roared out his anger and frustration.
She
frowned slightly as she quickly gathered the warm coffee and headed
towards
him.

"Take this." She replied simply not giving him a chance to protest.
"Sit."
She ordered.

Weya sat down first and patted the soft couch and hoped he would sit
next to
her.

Dante sat and leaned back holding the warm mug in his hands not saying
a
word.

Weya sipped her drink and allowed the soothing fluid to slide down her
throat as she closed her eyes to enjoy the few seconds of ecstasy. She

opened her eyes to the sound of Dante's chuckle.

"What?" she asked and blinked at him.
"Nothing.just enjoy watching you and your funny little rituals is all."
He
replied with a grin and took a sip of coffee.

"What funny little rituals?" she asked in all sincerity.

Dante chuckled and took another sip of coffee. "Hummm, lets see." He
teased."Well. You have one for almost everything you do." He answered.

Weya laughed and then blushed. "True." She admitted sheepishly. "But
we
can't be upsettin the spirits now can we?"

"No..No we cant do that." He agreed and smiled at her. This was the
way he
always wanted it to be. Just the two of them enjoying the simple
things;
and not worrying about the other things.

He finished his coffee and placed the empty mug on the floor and laid
his
arm across his face. Weya knew he was exhausted, and needed rest.
Being on
guard and on alert all the time was beginning to wear everyone thin.

She placed her empty mug on the floor, stood up and took both his
hands.
"Let's go rest for a short while..and then we can head over to the
medical
center and check up on the twins."

Dante did not argue, he nodded and let her pull him up. She smiled and
led
him to their room. She tucked him in and made him comfortable and then
laid
next to him so they could snuggle for awhile.

She smiled as she heard his deep soft breathing which told her he was
asleep. She felt the two pups join them and settle in at the end of
the bed
and she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

NRPG - no tags..just more character development and easing Weya back
into
the storyline.

[SUMMARY]

Weya drags Dante back to their place to clean up and perhaps get him to

relax and calm down after being so worried and angry at what happened
in the
tunnel.
