Subject: [DL-W] Easy Departures and Abrupt Meetings

OOC: My apologies to Ed, but I felt the need to move Aeryth forward in
the day. If you want to backpost something, that's fine. I just
wanted to let you know why I moved forward with this.

IC:

Day 17 - Late Afternoon - Hidden Hot Spring

Aeryth was actually enjoying her conversation with Gob. His easygoing,
friendly manner had helped her get past her usual extreme reticence
around men. The fact that he didn't loom over her and was, in fact, a
bit *shorter* than her helped as well. Just then, she realized how
late in must have been getting.

<~Oriana, just how late is it?~>

The silvery-green dragon opened one amber eye, she'd been sunning
herself and dozing on her ledge, and looked around before answering her
rider. <~It is late afternoon. What are you doing and will you be
done soon? It looks as though something interesting is going to be
happening outside the warren tonight.~>

"Oh dear," Aeryth said, causing Gob to look over at her questioningly.
"I hadn't realized it had gotten so late. And I've monopolized so
much of your time too. I really should be going." She turned to head
down the tunnel he'd said would take her to the green.

Gob grinned. "It's ok. I don't mind. Are you gonna go to the
carnival tonight?"

"C-carnival?" Aeryth looked nervous. "I...don't know."

"It'll be fun. But you're right about getting going. I'd better get
back before they come looking for me. See you later!" And with that,
Gob headed down the corridor that would take him to the kitchen.

After giving Gob a wave, Aeryth headed out to the Green. She was
thinking about the carnival and arguing with herself about going. On
one hand, it would be fun to see the acts and such, but on the
other...so many people, strangers, would be there.

<~I think you should go, my rider,~> was Oriana's comment. <~I'm
certainly going to get as close as I can and watch. You know I would
never let anyone harm you.~>

<~Yes, dear heart, I know that. But still...~> Aeryth was so deeply
involved in her thoughts and her conversation with her dragon that she
didn't notice how her path was taking her toward a man who was standing
with his back to her. Didn't notice him, that is, until she ran right
into him. As she stood there, mortified, he turned toward her and she
realized that he was very handsome. A fact that made her instantly
even more nervous than she was already.

<tags: Arlene...I thought this would be a good springboard for our JP
with Aeryth and Jael>

Summary: Day 17 - Late Afternoon
Aeryth realizes that it has gotten rather late and decides to let Gob
get back to his duties. He tells her about the carnival and goes on
his way. On her way across the Green, Aeryth is so busy talking to
Oriana and debating about going to the carnival that she doesn't
realize she's heading directly for Jael, who is standing with his back
to her, until she runs into him.
