Subject: [USS Capricorn] Let the Games Begin.

Bridge
First thing Ury did when re****ting back from lunch was to check the
re****ts and readouts. Everything was secure.
He relaxed, letting his mind wander back to the lunch he'd shared with
Amy.
She was completely right, he mused, they should use what happened on
the
planet as a learning experience. Things had gotten rapidly out of
control, and he still didn't understand how they had lost several of
their men and been so complacent on an alien world.
Services were set of Martin and Lewis for the following evening. He
assigned a security detail for color guard, even though he knew that
whoever wasn't on duty would undoubtedly be there.
He vowed that none of his men would act in such a thoughtless and
cavalier manner again on an away mission. He'd drill them until they
could run the simulations in their sleep! He didn't want the drills to
be too simplistic, and even though Ury knew basic holo-programming from
the Academy, he wasn't that proficient. He'd have to get with the new
Chief of OPS about adjusting some of the holodeck programming. And
that
new OPS officer, Ury noted, was just coming out of the Captain's Ready
Room.
[SNIP]
(Rico Medina) exited the ready room to the bridge. And upon his exit,
he
was greeted by a thunderous round of applause by the senior staff.
"Did everyone know about this but me?" he asked, blu****ng.
[END SNIP]
"Yup!" Ury laughed, coming around the duty stations to clap Rico on
the
back. "Welcome to the Bridge... And you're just the man I wanted to
talk to! So, are you ready to get to work?"
"Sure, lieutenant, what can I help you with?" Rico answered,
obligingly.
Ury took him aside and began to explain the complex holo-program he
wanted to develop and the training schedule he wanted to implement. He
tried to keep the suppressed anger out of his voice as he told Rico
about the botched defense of the away team -- not to mention the loss
of
the crew members.
"All crew should be given a basic drill in safety protocols, including
never splitting up away team parties unless absolutely necessary," Ury
went on. "But of course I want the Security detail to get specialized
drills on what to do in such cases, should this type of situation ever
arise again. Of course, nothing like this will probably happen again,
but it will hopefully make them be able to think on their feet better
than they have."
[TAG: Scott]
After working out the details with Rico, Ury scanned through the final
re****ts of the day. There were no incidents worth further
investigation, he noted. Ury frowned as he read through the log of
visitors that had frequented the Marquis and the other guests' VIP
quarters. One name stood out flagged in red. Istria had gone in, but
had not come back out.
The captain's name was also logged on the records and he noted that it
overlapped the time that Istria had been in with the Marquis. Ury
wondered if Reckage was aware that the science officer had been there
at
the same time.
Moving on to the next day's rosters, Ury noticed that the duty rosters
were still wide open for several individuals -- those he'd assigned to
"guest relations" who were scheduled to escort the Marquis and his
people to the sick bay for their "check-ups" as requested by the first
officer.
Dr. Hywell either had failed to properly inform Security about the
schedule, or had neglected that request all together. He sent a
message
to Dr. Hywell's work station. Undoubtedly she'd be done for the day,
but perhaps she'd see it first thing in the morning.
[TAG: Carys -- which one is it? And Ury and his goons are available to
escort the "guests" for their medical check-ups].

Ury saluted smartly as he handed his re****ts off to Montana. She
glanced through them and then looked up at the young man. "Anything I
should know about now?" Her gaze met his steadily.
Ury thought a moment before mentioning anything, "It's all in today's
re****ts, but I do want to point out that while I am not in the habit of
recording the whereabouts nor activities of off duty crewmen,
Lieutenant
Istria Talara spent most of her day in the quarters of the 'guests'
from
Marin that have come aboard."
[TAG: Tree -- what does Montana think?]
Ury handed over his station to his relief and went off duty. His comm.
chirped almost the instant the turbolift doors closed.
Tapping the badge he answered the call, "Rogan here".
*Mattheson here,* came a familiar voice. *Are you off duty yet?*
Ury's laughter rumbled forth. "Just off duty, lieutenant, is there
something you need?"
*Your company, if you're up to some holodeck 'games'.* Amy's voice
chirped.
"Right, the holo program you'd wanted me to see!" Ury grinned. He
knew
of course that he hadn't forgotten for a second that Amy would be
waiting for him at the end of the day.
[TAG: Josh... she's all his... or he's all hers... or something like
that!].

[NRPG - Rob, sorry. I tried, but I couldn't think of a way to tab
Akora]

SUMMARY
MD 5
12:45
Ury returns to the bridge after lunch with Amy. He welcomes the
new OPS chief and then immediately solicits some help with a new holo
program he's writing.
1800
Ury summarizes the day's events into a re****t for Montana. He
arranges the duty roster for the next day. Then he leaves the bridge
and is contacted by Amy who is wondering if he's forgotten about their
meeting (which he hasn't).
