After Akety left Roxie and Alton
Akety walked to Thea's office door. How was she going
to explain this, with out getting everyone into
trouble...she took a deep breath and knocked on the
door. She hear a chair move and some papers being
stacked together.
"Come in."
Akety pushed the door open. "Duchess.. I need to tell
you something."
"About what happen down in the hole."
"How..."
"Word travels fast by dragon." She looked at her.
Akety wearily smiled. "I.. um..."
"I will deal with the problem. Akety I would like to
introduce you to Seth, he if from cleft. "
Akety looked to Thea's side, indeed there was someone
there. She had failed to notice him, her mind was on
how to explain the hole. "Nice to meet you Seth."
He smiled at her. "Nice to meet you too Akety. I have
a request to ask of you... Cleft warren is in need of
help. There is a snake, called Nadusi, like creature
attacking the nomads and getting to close to the
warren. The creature's weakness is ice, or extreme
cold." He paused and looked at the little women. "We
are asking for all dragons that can breath ice to
help. Will you go?"
Akety had no idea where Cleft was or anything about
nomads, but how couldn't she go? She swallowed. "Yes,
I'll go." she paused." Is anyone else going with me?"
Thea smiled at her. "As a matter of fact K'nord is
going with you."
Akety sighed with relief, *Thank god.*
Then there was a knock on the, already opened, door
and K'nord walked in. "Lady Thea, you sent for me?"
"Yes, yes I did. I'd like to ask you if you...." She
explained the situation to him.
He stood there for a moment then nodded. "Yes I will
go, if that is the only way to stop that beast. When
should we go?" He looked to Akety then back to Thea.
"ASAP, they are in need of help and it shouldn't be
delayed. Get ready and been on the green as soon as
you can."
"I will be waiting for you there. Alizarin will give
your dragons a image of Cleft that was we can just
teleport there."
Thea clapped her hands together. "Good, the three of
you go get ready. Seth it was nice meeting you and I
hope to meet you on better new next time." She waved
at him as he walked out, once he was out of ear shot.
"Ordinarily I would have told them where they could
put this request I need my riders here not flying off
at someone else's whim." Akety and K'nord got the idea
that that was time to move on and walked out the door.
Outside she turned to him. "I'm glad your going with
me K'nord."
He smiled. "And I'm glad you're going too."
"All right I'll meet you on the green then." She
turned and rushed down the hall.
Late afternoon
Shirts were being tossed back and forth. Nothing was
getting done; her socks were being dragged around the
room. More-then-likely getting holes torn in them.
She tossed a pair of riding pants down, and stomped
her foot. "I'm going to help them Dante!"
He continued to take her cloth out of her packing
bags. "No your not, we need you here." He turned to
her. His face showing a hint of anger.
"They can't stop that thing with out Ishtar... I'm
going." She pushed past him and started to put her
stuff back in her bag.
He walked over and started to put things back in her
dresser. "K'nord is going, they will be fine."
She buttoned up her bags. "There are only a few
dragons that can breath extreme cold, Dante. If I
don't go a whole entire warren could be destroyed."
She paused. "Then what's to stop it from coming
here... that's all we need Dante. Is for two things
attacking us."
He huffed. "Well then you will be here to help."
"It won't do any good, if there is only one of us!"
"They can find a way; we need all the manpower here.
What happens when you come back... and there is
nothing here!?"
"I'm not going to be gone for years, Dante." She
tossed her bags in the corner. "I'm hoping a couple of
days maybe a week."
"It could take longer then you think... you have no
idea how long you will be gone!" He walked over to her
bags and started to unpack them.
"If you keep acting this way I may not come back!!"
She yelled at him.
He raised up and looked at her. His eyes wide, with
shock and anger, he hide his fear. He walked out
slamming the door.
She took a deep breath, tears threaded to come up.
*I'm a big girl now, I can take care of myself. *
[We will come back... right?] Ishtar poked in.
She nodded her head. *This is my home, Ish. I wouldn't
want to live any were else. * Akety felt her mind
relax as Ishtar sighed in relief.
Ishtar watched as Dante tossed a shirt he was holding
in the air, she caught it with her tail and slid it
back though the window.
Dante got to the end of her ledge and was getting
ready to get on Jacks. He stopped and yelled. "Your
just running away from your duty here Akety!"
She came rushing out the door. "Damn it Dante, just
go. If this is the way you want to say good by to me
fine." She rubbed her head. "Just go, if you are going
to be like this don't come to the green when we
leave." Turning she walked back in and shut the door.
Jacks leaned over and rubbed his head on Ishtar's
neck. [I'll come see you off, even if he won't.] He
felt a tug on the ropes and he fell from the cliff,
catching the winds and gliding up.
[She'll be fine my brother. Ishtar watches her like a
mother hawk.] Jacks said as they landed.
He huffed as he got off. *I'm scared to lose her,
Jacks. She is the only family I have left. Mom, dad
and grandma here killed by that bitch Omar. You think
it would be better if she was to leave here while the
beast roam about. But I won't be able to watch her...
to make sure nothing happens to her. *
[She is a women now, Dante. She can't have you
watching her like she is a baby. You will chase her
off like that.]
He sighed.
[And you have to watch others here, the huntress will
need you if those things come. Though I think she
would fair better then you would at times.]
*Haha.*
He nudged him. [Try not to worry and go see your
little sister off when she leave. Don't be angry or
over protective... that's not what you are here for
she needs for you to be a brother not a father. She'll
need your support not you blocking her out. Just think
if something were to happen and the last thing you
said to her was "Your just running away from your duty
here" is that really what you want her to remember?]
The dragon was right *Jacks I hate you sometimes...
where do you get all this stuff?*
He smiled the only way a dragon could. [One of us has
to be the wise one.]
*Alright, tell Ishtar that we will meet them there at
the green. Make sure they don't leave before we get
there.*
[Done.]
Late evening
Alexi was checking the bags on Ishtar making sure they
were on tight, he walked her over checking the straps.
Everything seemed in check, he then walked over to
shiver to check his bags and everything else.
Akety stood in front of Ishtar tying her boots up. She
was nerves and her stomach was up in her throat. When
she looked up there was a circle of people around
them. All looking on and murmuring. She scanned the
area looking for Dante. She was hoping he would be
here before they left.
[Tag: Anyone that wants to say goodbye to Akety and
K'nord before they head off to the unknown?]
After there farewells Akety jumped up on to Ishtar,
she looked over the crowed. He wasn't coming... this
made her sick and very upset. *Ready Ishtar?*
[They are coming.]
She looked up and saw Jacks coming from his ledge. He
was carrying Dante and Weya. He landed short of Ishtar
and shiver. Dante jumped off Jacks and Akety got off
Ishtar. They meet in-between them. She hugged him.
"I'm sorry.....Akety you be careful and come back ok?"
She smiled. "I will, promise."
He reached into his pocket and pulled out her half of
the locket. "I thought you might want to take this
alone?"
"Oh.. I almost left it. Thanks." She put it in side
her jacket pocket and buttoned it up.
He sighed and kissed her forehead. "I'll miss
you....sister."
She hugged him again. "I'll miss you too...."
Weya came up from behind Dante. Akety gave her a hug
too. "I'll miss you to Weya. Make sure you take care
of him... don't let him get a hold of Alton, ok."
"Aye.. I will watch him."
"Love you guys." She hopped up on Ishtar, who was
still saying her goodbyes.
"Love you too." Dante wiped his cheek.
Weya looked at him. "Are you crying?"
He turned. "No... I have something in my eye."
She put her arm around him. "You want me to get it
out."
He laughed. "No."
Akety looked to K'nord, he nodded saying he was ready.
They both looked to Seth as he hopped up on his
dragon. They started up.
"Take care of Larka for me!" Akety yelled down at
Dante and Weya.
"Aye... we will!" Weya waved at her.
Once they were so high up they circled around once,
Akety waving, though she knew she couldn't be seen.
Then ...Blink... they were gone.
Dante suddenly felt as if he had a huge hole in his
chest as he and Weya walked back to Jacks. They flew
back to his apartment, and fed the two puppies, Night
and Gal.
Nrgp: Well Akety and K'nord are off to cleft yea : D
Hopefully they will come back in one piece, see you
guys in cleft : D
