Subject: [DL-C] Rescue and Repulse
Day 4
Afternoon
Andahar brought the rest of the wing to the attack site, organizing
them
into two groups: those who would try to distract the Nadusi and those
who were attempting to rescue the nomads. The two ice-breathing
dragons
would be the first defense against the Nadusi, as they were the only
ones who could elicit a negative reaction from the beast.
Andahar instructed Bohoc to let Param know that she was to direct the
fight against the Nadusi.
[TAG: Andrew -- battle is yours. Just a reminder.... Nadusi gets away
this time as there are only 2 ice-breathing dragons... but more are on
their way.]
<My rider, Vordai is asking for suggestions on how to deal with
Nadusi,>
Bohoc told the young nomad.
Andahar frowned, trying to remember who Vordai was.
<She is very pretty Topaz dragon... new to Cleft... she breathes
ice....> Bohoc tried to jog Andahar's memory.
<*OH, right. From warren that Eth'n is from.*>
<Telnor.> Bohoc supplied.
<*Tell Vordai to follow Param and do as Param does,*> Andahar
suggested.
Bohoc told Vordai what his rider had said, and added a few tidbits of
advice himself, as he had fought the Nadusi himself, such as to stay
clear of the head and to try and drive the snake-like creature away
from
the Nomads by blowing the cold air against its side to turn it.
[TAG: Steph... hope that gives you something to work with.]
The green dragon then turned his attention on the fleeing Nomads.
Bohoc
sent directions to the wing as he and Andahar watched the chaos from
above. The Nomad women and children were fleeing in panic, not only
from the Nadusi but also from the diving dragons. This would not do!
They might get killed just trying to get away.
Bohoc tried to tell the dragons to stop diving at the humans. They were
not herd beasts!
Andahar saw someone struggling in the grasp of a dragon's claw, break
free and begin to fall to the ground. A dragon and rider dove below
the
falling person, trying to catch him on the dragon's back. The rider
tried to grab the falling nomad, but he bounced and rolled from the
dragon's back. Andahar's eyes closed, knowing there would be no time
for another attempt. When he opened them again, there was another
casualty on the ground.
Slowly, order was imposed and the dragons began to function as a team
should. The Nomads were retrieved from the different places where
over-enthusiastic riders had deposited them.
Andahar wondered at some of the tales... one group claimed that they
had
been scooped up in something like a basket and had been left on the top
of a cliff.
[TAG: any other players with dragons there... Josh, I loved the net
idea!]
One team of dragons were ferrying the rescued Nomads back to the
warren,
while the other was keeping the Nadusi at bay, harrying it and pursuing
it, as it withdrew from the Nomad camp; the two ice-breathing dragons
blasting it as it retreated.
But as they watched it leave, Andahar wasn't completely convinced that
they had won. It had created much havoc and had fed on at least four
Nomad warriors. He wasn't sure if it was only leaving because it was
full or whether the ice-breathing dragons really were affecting it.
If they didn't get more ice-breathing dragons soon, they'd never be
able
to drive it away or kill it. Andahar wondered if a Nadusi could even
be
killed or if it were one of the immortals.
<My rider, you are wanted back at Cleft!> Bohoc broke into Andahar's
reverie. <Something to do with angry nomad... and Reain.>
[TAG Barb -- want to JP?]

Summary Day 4
Afternoon
Andahar and Bohoc help to direct the battle against the Nadusi and the
rescue mission of the Nomads. He sends some "regular" fire breathing
dragons to help Cholmon and Param with the Nadusi. Bohoc gives some
suggestions to Vordai and she joins Cholmon in driving the Nadusi back.
Other dragons are instructed to stop grabbing Nomads and to make a much
more organized attempt at the rescue.
