(Day 1, yep the date is right the eggs are hatching so we are now on
day 1)
Thea came rushing from the warren ladies office crossbow cocked and
ready to
fire. Her eyes searching ahead her steps no longer taking the simple
elegant
walk she was know for her Chestnut hair blowing in the morning air like
a
large fan behind her. The topaz eyes would have been home to a lioness
on
the hunt passed briefly over Lexi as she ran by.
"Whoa there Duchess you can't go down there it isn't safe," The
blacksmith
caught her arm and looked at her with his deep sapphire eyes.
"My babies, my little ones their in danger out of my way!" she hollered
and
tried to pull out his grip.
"The calls already been gone out, just stay her with me everything will
be
fine." Lexi tried to urge the warren lady.
"Let go now!" she said commanding. For a moment Lexi seemed taken back
and
she pulled free but the muscle bond blacksmith was much faster then he
looked and he quickly took her arm again. With a snarl she turned
toward him
as he smiled for a brief moment before Thea's knee connected with his
groan.
His eyes rolled to the back of his head a moment as he slumped down and
Thea
began to run away.
Recovering as quickly as he could Lexi manage to catch up to her and
grab
her around the waist as she struggled to twist around to give him a
repeat
performance? It was only the fact Thea had been wearing a dress that
didn't
allow her to run very well that he could catch up at all. She kicked
and
screamed. "Calm down Duchess everything will be ok. Ouch!!" She had
kicked
him in the shine. "Damn it calm down your worst then a wildcat." She
managed
to turn in his arms and face him. The sound of her hand hitting his
face
made a resounding sound but Lexi only returned the slap and Thea's eyes
grew
wide.
"How dare you! Do you know who I am? I'll have you hanging from the
highest tree!" She began to shout then as though being hit with
realization.
She whispered quietly. "Thanks." The strong emotions of Galendriel had
overshadowed her own.
"What was that?" Lexi asked a sly smirk on his face.
She took in a deep breath then turns to him and said, "Thanks for
stopping
me do something foolish." Then she turns back to the hatching sands.
"I
need to get down there Lexi, if something happens to Galendriel then it
happens to me and no one will be able to calm her down except me." She
turned her head looking deeply on the man that she once was intimate
with.
"So if you feel I am putting myself in danger you better make sure
danger
doesn't reach me."
Thea hurried on to the hatching sands as a large forest green dragon
landed
next to Lexi, "So big boy, you have all the luck. First you get to bed
her
now you get to slap her that is just so unfair." She slid down the
scales
on the dragons' neck and walked over to Lexi who was walking quickly to
stay
not too far behind her. Lexi glanced toward the lean dragon rider who
only
wore enough leather to keep her female parts hidden and those barely.
"Sybil I don't have time for your antics." Lexi started, shaking his
head.
"Well don't be jawing now," She slapped Lexi on the bottom with a
smile.
"You best keep the Lady safe the Alpha squad will clean up the rest."
With
that said she was up on the green dragon the wings beating the air as
they
climbed back into the sky.
When Lexi reached Thea she was talking to Galendriel. The Gold dragon
looked
as though she was ready to eat the young men and woman Searchling. But
instead the Gold dragon held steady as the young ones hurried forward
grabbing the eggs that took both arms practically to carry. It was a
clutch
of eggs some thirty in number.
Thea watched with concern she still held the crossbow though it seemed
such
a useless thing at the moment. She didn't dare leave Galendriel alone.
Most
of the eggs were away when suddenly Galendriel let out a welling scream
of
anguish that ripped through the morning air.
Lexi was there to hold Thea up as she watched Galendriel and Samson rip
away
the sands and begin opening a large hole. Sand was flying everywhere as
their talon claws ripped away at the earth.
The whoosh in the air caught her attention as forty Alpha wing dragons
descended on the three wyverns that had managed to break into the
warren.
Thea made a mental calculation and realized there were more Alpha wing
dragon's then possible meaning some were Gamma and Beta pulling dual
shifts.
It was an impressive sight none the less as the sky filled up with all
the
colors of the rainbow. She would have to talk to Sybil later and she
shuddered with that thought.

Samson pushed Galendriel out of the way as she started to put her head
into
the gaping hole. Like her rider she growled and hissed at Samson but
soon
he was pulling out a tawny haired girl she knew as Weya and her
daughter the
princess Cu'we. But the dark ones were nearly to the edge of the hole
as
well. Galendriel and Samson soon after filled the hole with Searing
heat and
flames nearly scorching their own noses in the process.
Thea rushed to Weya's side and seeing the dragon with her she was taken
back
for a moment. In her arms was a hungry queen hatchling. But there was
little time to think about it, she filled the fact in her mind knowing
that
she and Weya would have to sit down and work out her training much was
about
to change for the huntress.

The sun had finely broken free and the warren was bathed in its
glittering
rays. Shafts of light seem to herald a new beginning and Thea muttered
to
herself that she truly hoped so. 2 eggs never hatched and died in
there
shells 1 egg hatched and the dragon disappeared but there were now 27
new
dragon riders and one of them a princess soon to be queen.

Summary, Thea comes to the rescue of the Searchling, Sybil gathers the
Alpha
squad to repeal the Wyverns and Galendriel and Samson work to save Weya
and
Cu'we.
