Yeah, cuz the word 'awards' is wrapped to the next line. I simply cut
and
pasted it to the first part of the link in my address bar and it worked
fine. :)

Subject: New poll for WeaversFiction
Enter your vote today! A new poll has been created for the
WeaversFiction group:
Participation of the awards has been very low, with mostly admins
submiting post or doing the voting. We need Participation from all
writers. So this brings me to try a poll and see if you wish to keep
the awards or if we should stop putting our energy into them. Thank you
taking the time.
o Yes, Please keep the Awards going.
o No, Stop
o I don't really care yes there nice but I don't want to participate
To vote, please visit the following web page:

not collected via email. To vote, you must go to the Yahoo! Groups
web site listed above.

I've created a poll in regards to the Awards on the question if we
should continue them or not. Please log into Yahoo groups chose Polls
and make your vote. If you have other input like you would like awards
changed in one way or the other please just forward your comments to
awards@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
and we will take your advice in consideration
of the 2006 awards.
Thank you
Ed and Tree the awards Committee

Hi All,
It appears that the link to the Award Site was chopped for what ever
reason. If you experienced this problem you can try the following link,
or just copy and paste it into your url window in its entirety. If this

Subject: [DL-D] Now That You're Joined
Day 1
Late Morning
Medical Center
Sharees knew that Lexi was worried about his sister. No one yet knew
the extent of Almantha's condition or how that would affect Pandora.
The dragon-healers had done their best. Though no one wanted to talk
about the loss of the eggs and the damage to the young queen, everyone
was thinking about it.
With those sad thoughts in her mind, Sharees headed to the area where
the newly joined riders and the hatchlings were being temporarily
housed. She wasn't completely paying attention when she stumbled upon
two young women who were chatting.
With her thoughts on the conditions of the new riders and their
dragons,
it was easy to misunderstand their conversation, and Sharees asked:
[SNIP]
"Hot? Did I hear someone say they are hot? Is everything okay here? Are
you girls okay? What about your hatchlings?"
"Uhh...no we're okay, our hatchlings are too, we were uhh......talking
about something else," Star said as she felt her face growing warm from
embarrassment. She quickly glanced at Molina, she was blushing, also.
[END SNIP]
Sharees looked from one girl to the other, and the high color of their
cheeks and began to grin, "Ah! Well... that's part of the reason I'm
here...."
The girls' eyes widened, and the glanced at each other.
Sharees continued, "Now that you're joined there are some...
consequences." She glanced around and noticed that many of the riders
were beginning to waken. "But I think I'll wait to go over that when
everyone is awake. But you sure you girls are okay? You don't need
anything?"
They both shook their heads, "No, we're fine."
Sharees nodded and moved on, to stop and chat with other newly-joined
riders. After a while they all began to gather around Sharees as she
fielded questions.
She apologized for their being housed in the medical center rather than
in more comfortable accommodations. "We're working on getting the
barracks back into livable conditions, so this shouldn't be for too
much
longer." Now that she had everyone's attention she began to talk in
earnest about the demands and responsibilities that had just become
theirs.
"Taking care of a newly hatched dragon is a very time consuming
undertaking. Not only will your young dragon grow rapidly, but you'll
also need to learn to work together. Your next few months will be
taken
up almost exclusively with feeding, oiling and caring for your dragon,
and training.
"As you saw yesterday, the warren was attacked by wyverns. Our dragons
with their riders fought off the menace, but fighting isn't simply
attacking anything in sight. It is a well coordinated effort between
members of the wing. This is where training is vital. Without it,
your
dragon would be as likely to be injured by a wyvern as it would by one
of our own. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time can be deadly.
"Training will also help you and your dragon think as one. I can't
stress how important this is. Not only do you need to be able to
concentrate together when fighting, but also in teleporting. Dragons
can be lost if their riders become confused or distracted during a
teleport. I've heard tales of dragons ending up in other warrens or
even
out in the wastes because their riders lost their focus and they were
not concentrating on their destination.
"You and your dragon are now a unit. You have now become a 'we'. You
and your dragon -- together you will eat, sleep and train together, and
eventually to fly together. Our goal is to strengthen that bond and to
hone you into dragonriders!" Sharees smiled, her own pride shining in
her face.
Molina and Star hadn't forgotten what Sharees had said earlier and they
spoke up now, "But you said there were some consequences."
"Yes, so I did. I almost forgot." Sharees chuckled. "You may have
noticed that you have been having certain feelings or emotions that may
seem a bit out of place. For instance: Perhaps you've just eaten a huge
breakfast but are still feeling famished?" She saw a few heads nod and
continued, "Well, those feelings might not be your own. If you've just
eaten and still feel hungry, perhaps your dragon may need to be fed.
"Another part of your training will be learning how to cope with the
emotions, thoughts and feelings of your dragon and how they will affect
you, as well as, your feelings and how they are affecting your dragon.
There is also the matter of mating flights...
She watched the various expressions on the newly-joined riders. She
could tell some had heard of mating flights and were intrigued, others
embarrassed, and still others were completely innocent. Those latter
might be in for a bit of a shock. "Let me tell you about a mating
flight..." Sharees allowed interruptions, but continued on gamely,
knowing that they needed to hear it all.
[TAG: to writers of all newly-joined riders... Sharees is available to
answer anything thrown her way.]

Summary:
Day 1
Late Morning
Sharees leaves Lexi and goes to see what she can do for the
newly-joined
riders and dragons. She finds herself answering their questions and
telling them a bit about what will be expected of them over the next
few
months.
