Day 1

Watching the woman as she walked away, Star and Molina gave
themselves a moment to get over their embarrassment, before following
the woman.
Minutes later, Star noticed the other newly joined riders
gathering around the woman. Some were stretching their muscles, others
were yawning, and yet, others were still wiping sleep from their eyes.
"Come on...we should be over there listening to what she has to
say, also." Star said in a low voice as she touched Molina's arm to get
her attention.
Limping next to Molina, the two slowly made their way over to
the group.
Star purposely moved in close to Alden and Alton, pulling
Molina's arm as she did.
The twins smiled at her as the two girls squeezed in next to
them. Smiling back at them, she then turned to give Molina an knowing
smile.
Molina smiled then turned her gaze to the boys for a moment then
onto the woman, who was explaining to them about their new
responsibilities.
Watching Molina, then taking the hint that she too, should be
listening to this woman, who ever she was.

"You and your dragon are now a unit. You have now become a 'we'.
You
and your dragon -- together you will eat, sleep and train together, and
eventually to fly together. Our goal is to strengthen that bond and to
hone you into dragonriders!" Sharees smiled, her own pride shining in
her face.
Molina and Star hadn't forgotten what Sharees had said earlier and they
spoke up now, "But you said there were some consequences."
"Yes, so I did. I almost forgot." Sharees chuckled. "You may have
noticed that you have been having certain feelings or emotions that may
seem a bit out of place. For instance: Perhaps you've just eaten a huge
breakfast but are still feeling famished?" She saw a few heads nod and
continued, "Well, those feelings might not be your own. If you've just
eaten and still feel hungry, perhaps your dragon may need to be fed.
"Another part of your training will be learning how to cope with the
emotions, thoughts and feelings of your dragon and how they will affect
you, as well as, your feelings and how they are affecting your dragon.
There is also the matter of mating flights...
She watched the various expressions on the newly-joined riders. She
could tell some had heard of mating flights and were intrigued, others
embarrassed, and still others were completely innocent. Those latter
might be in for a bit of a shock. "Let me tell you about a mating
flight..." Sharees allowed interruptions, but continued on gamely,
knowing that they needed to hear it all.

"Uh... Umm...Ma'am, I'm sorry! I don't know your name, yet, but
I know next to nothing about life in a warren or with dragons, and with
this...uh..." Star blushed severely as she lowered her head to hide her
face, "mating flight. I've never been inside a warren until now."
She had feared the others would laugh, but surprisingly, they
did not. Most of them were either intrigued or embarrassed as Star was.
Realizing she wasn't going to be laughed at, she was able to get
over her embarrassment quickly enough.
Others started asking about when the training would start, all
of them were eager for the answer to that question, so everyone became
quiet.
"So what do we do now? We've all made sure our dragonets were
safe, fed and checked by the healers. We've stayed here, waiting until
it was safe to go out again. How long will we need to stay here?" Star
asked the woman, then looking around as the other piped in, "Yeah?"
they all asked together as one.
Star looked over at Molina, but she was busy watching the twins.
She looked over at the two boys, who paid no mind to Molina, as they
were eager to know what this woman had to say.
*Molina is right, they both were cute. She couldn't decide which
one was cuter* Star thought, but quickly looked away as Alden looked at
her and smiled. She was thankful the two didn't know what she had been
thinking just now, or what she and Molina had talked about earlier.
[What's going on?] Sarette asked groggily.
*Just getting some information and instructions on what we're to do
next. Are you okay, Precious One?*
[I'm fine, just a bit hungry.]
*Can you hold off for a few, until we're done here?*
[I think so!]
*Good! Why don't you try getting some more sleep and as soon as we're
done, I'll bring you some food.*
[Okay!]
*If you can't wait, let me know. I'll try slipping away to get you
some food. But, I really need to be here and get all the information
that I can, so I can properly care for you.*
[I'll be okay! Besides Emil and Neka are here with me]
*Good!*
Star turned her attention back to the woman in front of the
group. She waited for instruction on what they were to do next, as were
the others.

The woman left Star and Molina standing where they were, as she
went over to talk with other newly joined riders.
Moments later, Star and Molina joined the rest of the newly
joined riders that gathered around the woman.
Star pulled Molina with her, as she squeezed in next to the
twins.
The woman spoke of the responsibilities that the new riders must
live by now, and of the hard training that they had to look forward to.
The new riders waited for their next instructions on what they
were to do next, they waited to find out how long they were to stay
there, and wondered when their training would start, all eager for the
answers to their questions and instructions on what to do next or where
to go.
