Still Partying: Celebrating 20 Years of the Liaden UniverseŽ
In February 1988 Agent of Change first hit the shelves mass market
original from Del Rey Books. Conflict of Honors followed in June of the
same year. And the rest is history!
No, wait. The rest is story, that's it....
Speaking of Anniversaries, Part One
This month marks the first anniversary of Steve's Mad Dash(tm) down to
Meisha Merlin's Georgia headquarters to take some of our books as
payment on royalties owed. We were told at that time that the remaining
books were in danger of being pulped, and that Meisha Merlin would
contact its authors if the books were able to be rescued. We have not
been contacted by Meisha Merlin, though we are in receipt of several
rumors. To the best of our knowledge, all of the Meisha Merlin books
that had been in the warehouse have been destroyed. There may be some in
bookstore or distributor warehouses, or in the inventories of booksellers.
SRM Publisher does have Meisha Merlin editions of Lee and Miller books
available for sale. If you don't see what you need, please inquire at
catalog9@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
and orders by snail-mail should go to this new address:
SRM Publisher, Ltd.
PO Box 707
Waterville Maine 04903-0707
Speaking of SRM Publisher
Please visit the spiffy new online catalog at
http://www.srmpublisher.com.
SRM has done a top-to-bottom,
sideways-and-backwards redesign in order to make the pages more
navigable and easy to follow. There's still minor sprucing up going on,
but please stop on by!
Saltation Readers Take Note: No Chapter on April 14 and Rule Change
Sharon and Steve have discovered that they can do no more than three
things at once. Therefore, they will be upgrading the back room works at
Saltation over the weekend of April 11 and 12. This upgrade will make
updating the website much easier for the authors. We thank you for your
patience and understanding.
Also! There has been a Rule Change posted on the Saltation front page.
In short form, subscriptions for the trade paperback edition of
Saltation will be capped at 1,000 books (there's a good reason why we're
doing this, but we can't tell you what it is right now. Soon. No,
really.).
There is a meter in place on the front page to help everybody keep track
of how we're doing. Bear in mind that this meter is not updated
instantly, or automagically; it is done by hand, when Sharon has had
time to update the database.
Thank you all for your interest in and support of the Theo Waitley
projects. We stand in awe of your generosity.
Fledgling High Rollers: Take Note
If you were one of the many people who kindly donated $50 or more to the
project and you expected to receive more than one book, please write to
Sharon at fledgling@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
and tell her this. The default for
donations is one book. If you do write to Sharon, please include: (1)
The name(s) you sent your payment under (really, we have no way of
knowing that Anwar Morningstar is Sara Jones unless you tell us), (2) a
copy of your PayPal receipt, if any, or the date and number of your
check/money order. If you have moved since you ordered, please tell us
that, too.
Please, please, please, for the love of Ghu don't write and ask if you
donated more than $50; there are 1200! (egad!) orders in the Fledgling
database and Sharon really doesn't have time (see "three things at once"
above) to look up every single one. Thanks very much for your help in
this.
