My initial point is that (according to the Bible) abortion (abortion
violently induced by another in this case) is considered a minor sin
compared to picking up sticks on Saturday. The idea above is adding to
the point. God put leaders in charge of nations, knowing that abortion
(decided upon by the pregnant person in this case) would be made legal
(or kept legal) during their terms. It was god's will that abortion be
made legal in some places and to be made illegal in others (Stalinist
Russia, for example).

I'm not 'assuming' that at all. I was talking about what the Bible and
one of the Catholic catechisms say outright. That there is only god's
will, that the leaders of all nations are there by god's will and that
we're supposed to submit to that will. That abortion was made legal in
some areas by god's will, isn't evidence that god wants everyone who
can, to rush out and have an abortion. It's evidence that she considers
it a minor sin (if a sin at all). Again, inducing a spontaneous abortion
in another man's wife, is considered a property crime, in the Bible,
with a fine owing to the husband.

I think it's superstitious nonsense, but the Bible and Catholic
Catechism 1918 are pretty clear, if you put any stock in them.

>Surely that's inconsistent with the Catholic position on free will.

Yes it is. The idea that there is only god's will, and that we also have
free will is self contradictory. Democracy is an illusion, as the ones
god want in power get there and our 'free choice' is a delusion from our
puppet master. Or the Bible and the Catholic Catechism's are just
words...
