It's a bit like that old "Paris in the the spring" trick.

Then again, when reading something quickly, I've found my eyes tend to
skip lines even when they're well formatted, and words from one line
bleed into the line above.  I was reading a TV review in the paper just
now and read the sentence, "He flew to Los Angeles, bought a car and
drove west."  Which would have been a neat trick, except that what the
sentence actually said was, "He flew to Los Angeles, bought a car and
drove east, or rather, north-west at first."
