Is that the same as haemochromatosis which was what Miles Kington was
diagnosed with?  Can't find anything about hemochromocytosis on
Wikipedia.

For those who'd not heard of him, Kington was a humourist who had
written a daily column for the The Independent newspaper for 21 years,
almost since it first stared.  He had a column printed last Wednesday,
on Thursday the paper announced he'd died.  Turned out he also had
pancreatic cancer, but as he worked from home, rarely went into the
office, nobody on the paper knew.  And his final columns were still
funny.
