His cosmology was fairly obviously derived from similar sources to the 
1890s-1900s SF I've been using for Forgotten Futures - I think he just 
never updated his knowledge beyond what he read as a kid. And they were 
infinitely better written than bloody "I was born in free fall so I can 
breathe vacuum" Kemlo.
