More Virginia "justice"

I just read about Arthur Whitfield.  DNA evidence proved he was
innocent of the two rapes he had spent 23 years in a Virginia prison
for.  Fortunately, since the crimes were before 1995, that meant he
could be paroled.  (People convicted of more recent crimes in Virginia
cannot be.)  So he was.

But he's still a convicted felon and a registered sex offender.
Governor Kaine refuses to given him a pardon.  And he has no legal
recourse due to Virginia's infamous 21 day rule.

This was covered, not in a Virginia newspaper, but in an Ohio one.
