The fact that Catholics still use that commandment doesn't mean they 
have to use the Mosaic interpretation of its implications or the 
punishment for breaking it.

Consider the issue, now before the Supreme Court, of the meaning of the 
Second Amendment. Both sides accept the validity of the amendment, but 
they disagree quite a lot on what it means.
