The only BBC productions i was aware of before i read this  were the
"Swallows & Amazons Forever" ones, which, in fact, had neither
Swallows nor Amazons in them, being based on "Coot Club" and "The Big
Six".  ("The Big Six" did, however, have both a past and a future "Dr
Who" in it.); those were from 1984.  Tere was also a theatrical film,
in 1974, the cast of which included Virginia McKenna as Mrs Walker.

Looking at the listing on IMDB, it appears that that was a production
of the full book, while the film ends soemwhere arond the point that
is episode 5 (of six) in the '63 series.
