This is sad. I've been buying books from Ken probably for thirty years
now, saying hi to him at cons all over Europe.
In my role as treasurer for the SF Foundation, I've been sending him
cheques for Foundation purchases about once a month. Just a year or
two back, I apologised in a covering letter that there was an 8p
discrepancy between the amount I'd written on a cheque and the amount
the bank took from our account. He phoned me up the next morning
telling me not to worry about it. The phonecall probably cost as much
as the discrepancy.
