Or rather, anyone motivated enough to kill would also be motivated
enough to obtain a gun.  Since he's not deterred by murder being
illegal, he won't be deterred by guns being illegal.

Perhaps the idea is to make guns not merely illegal but unavailable?

That's not going to happen unless they repeatedly search everyone's
home and businesses, and seize not just all guns but also all machine
shops.  They're not even able to keep drugs out, and drugs are rapidly
consumed.  Guns can last for decades.

Even if they made the whole US as locked-down and draconian as a
maximum security prison, they won't find guns that are buried in
the woods.

So the only question -- and I'm sorry if it sounds like a slogan -- is
whether everyone who wants to should be armed, or only the bad guys.

I'm wondering if you'll even see this, or whether you're completely
oblivious to the fact that you've been broadcasting to two newsgroups,
and you're only checking for responses in the other one.
