Unfortunately that isn't usually a deal they can do - in store there
won't be anyone who can set up another OS, and the warranty will almost
always be for the machine as supplied, e.g. with windows. You're always
at liberty to wipe the hard disk and start from scratch but they won't
do it for you. Most PCs will do a reasonable job of running some sort of
linux setup, but getting it onto the PC and getting everything to work
with it is a non-trivial task.
If you're looking for DOS you're probably not going to have much luck -
there are no modern PCs I know of that can be made to run any version of
DOS without Windows behind the scenes doing things like memory
management.
