Nope, DOS will run natively on new systems if you install it or boot
from floppy. You won't get access to more than 640k of RAM and you'll
not be able to use things like some PCI bus cards or USB ports. A PCI-E
video card will default to 80-character monochrome until you can get
640x480 VGA emulation mode running after DOS wakes up.
A modern PC runs GWBASIC programs *really* fast, I find.
