While I can imagine people who might freeze in a crisis situation I've 
bnever met anyone who believed in an infinite capacity handgun, outside of

[OBSF] Star Trek phasers.

 Apologies. I misread the intent WRT to reload time. I still fail to see 
what effect knowing exactly how long it takes to reload, even assuming
that 
impossibility due to the vagaries of the individual, would effect the 
actions of an intervener.

 In the real world someone might decide to act during a reload. Knowing
the 
exact particulars of reloading  don't don't really enter into it, IMO.
