I remember at that con it was quite common to see people in costume
walking between the hotels late at night.  One night, in the early
hours, I was walking back to my hotel and saw two women in front of me
in some kind of uniform, so I assumed they were fans in costume.  It
was too dark and too distant for me to work out what uniform, but then
they got into a police car and drove off.
