Some time in the mid 90s I was in the habit of going down to Brighton
to visit friends. Friends who were into Viking re-enactment. On
Sunday mornings I'd get dragged from my bed and shoved into garb, then
we'd wander through the town with our swords, etc, to a local park,
where the fight practice took place - in the open air.

The police would give us a cheery wave as they passed by.
