I have a nine-foot 3/4" copper pipe that I found in the trash years
ago and kept because I thought it might be worth something.  Can you
tell me where I can get over $40 for it?

Right.  I've heard horror stories about catastrophic PVC pipe failures
causing floods that destroyed everything in a home.
