Well, it surely was more of a issue than when Philcon was by the
Redding Terminal Market. At that hotel, there were several eateries
across from the back end of the hotel, and more either side at the
front end.

But, this past year's Philcn, my wife and I ate at a Fridays, or a
similar
sit down restaurant, a couple of blocks from the con hotel, and on one
day of the con, I fetched Subway sandwiches for the both of us from a
similar distance.

Yep. Though, another urban option is to take mass transit from the
hotel to a chosen eatery, and back.

I just looked the Philcon 2007 Restaurant Guide and it contains
three pages of listings, pretty much all within one mile of the hotel.
62 restaurants and 10 grocery/markets, all within one mile, and
many no more than 1/4th of a mile away. The TGIFs is listed as
being 0.07 miles away. The Subways is listed as 0.17 miles away.

Well, I doubt that any eatery can offer something that matches that
choice's price... <g>
