Having the right to do something doesn't make them correct. I don't 
care what Harryhausen says his intentions were, "Earth vs. the 
Flying Saucers" was filmed in B&W, and the cinematographer made 
decisions accordingly. That's how I want to watch it. (To be fair, 
the new DVD has both versions on it.)
