the presbyterian college i went to, and the catholic university i used 
to work at gave everyone good friday off, but usually it was under the 
auspices of "spring break". the public university i currently work for 
is giving us good friday off as "floating holiday", which i believe 
translates to: "we are giving people good friday off but we have to 
claim it's for some non-religious reason because of that pesky 
separation of church and state thing".
