Except when a day starts at sundown, and your subject dies before
sundown, it is another day.

2. Saturday
3. Sunday

Three days.

But the same day.  Sundown happens at, say, 1800 on Saturday. At 1801
Jesus pops back to life. The Gospels make it clear than on the
*morning* of the third day Mary came to the tomb (and that story
changes from book to book. Still the third day, but morning simply
come later in the "day" that we expect.
