The two obituaries in today's Independent are Sir Arthur C. Clarke and
John Hewer, an actor whose main claim to fame is playing Captain Birds
Eye in a long-running series of commercials for frozen foods.
The coincidence is that they were both parodied by The Goodies. In
fact, I think they were both played by Graeme Garden on the show.
