We visited a friend at a Howard Johnson in NYC, and there were floors
where different wings weren't communicating with one another, so you had
to go up a floor, down a hall, and down a floor to get someplace. Our
friend's room had an interesting feature -- a huge spigot pipe coming
out of the floor. We refrained from turning on the tap, especially as
our friend had apparently been flooded out of his first room.

In the same hotel, we were walking down a hallway (not the one that led
to a featureless dead end), and another friend remarked that it was
always fun to be in a corridor where you could touch both walls with
your shoulders.
