I seem to recall that that 2000 Worldcon in Chicago was like that.

At the last Disclave it was discovered that some im****tant floor
drains had been carpeted over.

Wasn't that an ADA violation?  Such a narrow hallway wouldn't be
usable by wheelchair users.
