They are given to a nice farm family far far away, farther than you
can get to.  It's a very very nice place where the temperature and
humidity are moderate and constant and direct sunlight never reaches
the books.  There are lots of nice librarians who repair them to be
like new and catalog them and put them on beautiful shelves.  There
are no winters there, and nobody ever tears the books or bends the
corners.  The books play all day in the fields with Aristotle's
Eudemus, Byron's memoirs, and Shakespeare's Cardenio.
