My CU I have a legacy membership in.  I was originally an associate
member on my mother's account, along with my brothers and sister. My
membership is all that's left of that group, my mother and sibs having
dropped their memberships in the intervening years.

When my mother joined it was restricted to employees and dependents of
one company.  Since then it's expanded to other companies in the area
(and changed it's name twice).
