Consider the times, though, just a few generations after Lincoln's
abuses, and an era in which even before he took office civil
liberties were nowhere near as respected as they were on, say, 20
January 2001 -- the magnitude of Wilson's offenses may be great, but
did he take the nation on as _reverse_ a course re civil liberties as
Bush is, or at least is trying to do?
