As a commercial driver/dispatcher for the last 15 years, I can answer
that one easily. Doing this can get you in trouble. When I was
dispatching for SuperShuttle we got constant complaint calls about our
vans using non-guest driveways for turns. So much so that we had to
make it clear that this was not acceptable.

Now, driving a 34' flatbed, I have to make turns and route reversals
without using driveways, because people freak out when they see my
truck roll up.
