On the other hand, "who can they talk to" really depends not only on 
whether someone could set up encryption but on whether someone does. 
I've been involved with encryption as an interesting issue for well over 
a decade, and I'm sure I could locate and use the relevant software, but 
I don't, because I don't have anything I want to hide enough to go to 
the trouble.
