A lot of times news sites like Fox, CNN, the NY Times, and WaPo 
simply reprint AP stories, so assuming you trust the AP more than 
Fox, checking the origin of the story might give it credibility.

In this case, though, it's Fox's stripped down sensationalistic 
version of a real story.
