Look at existing cartoons. Faces are im****tant, but you
want also to look at body language and backgrounds. I
think earlier Alley Oop, and all Pogo, is very good. Do
note the characters aren't strongly modelled on the human
structure but that they are consistent over time. More
recently I've been seeing Jorge Cham's 'Piled Higher and
Deeper'. Not least, sit down and write an outline or a
prescription (also known as a 'parametric envelope') for
*what you like* as a central outline for what you want to
do. Because, *you* is where your work comes from.
