Everything is toxic in sufficiently large amounts. If nothing else it
can be dropped on you from a great height, after compression if
necessary...
Vitamin C isn't much of a problem. It's one of the water soluble
vitamins and, with exceptions, the ones that pose the greatest overdose
dangers are fat soluble because they tend to ac***ulate in the body.
Vitamins A & D are the traditional culprits.
Personal experience... At about age 5 I found the bottle of
orange-flavored chewable vitamin C in the bathroom and consumed the
remainder of the bottle, somewhere in the 30-60 grams range, or 500-1000
times the RDA. The doctor's response to my mother's frantic phone call
was "tell him not to do that again." I don't recall any side effects.
