I do not understand the ways of Hollywood.
The producers, crew, writers and cast have complete permission to bring
Matheson's novel to the screen, but ----
instead of vampires, everybody has been changed to darkseekers, pallid
wallcrawlers who don't like light.
a dumb dog is a major character
they try to transplant a "teachers should be credited with their
student's success" theme into a horror flick.
Why the tributes to the inept changes the story got when it was filmed
as the Omega Man with Chuck Heston? Why do the makers speak of how they
venerate the original material when they don't transfer it to the
screen?
