Yes and no. Sure there are many cases where civilian goods are marketted 
like their military counterparts, but there are many cases where military 
products find their making their way into the civilian markets--if for no 
other reason than companies seeking to boost flagging revenues when a war 
ends.

Also the WWII jeep was majorly popular with vets and it carried over 
civilian side when they came back home as the Jeep CJ (Civilian Jeep).
